Again,mainly for the exiles.

Trotty says of :

DAN YOUNG : A former Derby apprentice,Dan is Young by name & young by nature but he's a very good player. He looked "fantastic" on Tuesday night & has something special.

I believe Tonbridge & Welling were interested as well but he's here & as long as he dosen't get ideas above his station he'll be fine.

PAUL AXON : Labelled "Jet heeled".

Paul Axon's given me 100% commitment in pre-season & I had no hesitation giving him a contract.

He's young & willing to learn,he's got legs & hunger & he's really advanced in pre-season.He's been unbelievable.

ROB HAWORTH : Rob Haworth was a non-contract player here & I didnt muck about. He's been immense in pre-season & is one of the no.1 strikers at this club.It was only fair to give him a deal.

KARL BARRON : Had missed training & matches & turned up at the Dover game saying he was injured.

Karl had something I liked but how can I give him a contract when I cant have a look at him.

There's other young players like Paul Axon who have turned up at every training session & every game & thats what you need.

I'll always give young players a chance but first of all you've got to give yourself a chance.

Karl's made his decision & I wish him all the best for the future.I hope he does well.

LUKE COLEMAN & JOHN AKINDE(winger & striker) : Likes the look of them both. Two of four players Gravesend boss Liam Daish is prepared to let the Blues boss try out.

PAUL SMITH (Physio) : Former Colchester physio. He's just left the U's & has every qualification going-and-more & is chuffed to have him.

He said: The club have done really well to get him in,because I coudn't work it through my budget.

He's totally committed, loves his work & would do rehab seven days a week if you need him to.

He shoudn't be at this level,he should be in the Premiership.

HOSPITAL VISITS : Margate players paid their second visit of the year to the town's hospital when they helped open a fete before lifting sick youngsters(spirits I presume).More than 15 of Robin Trotts squad toured Rainbow Ward.

Margate boss Trott first led members of his squad to the hospital in January when they handed out gifts & chatted to children.

DEAN STANDEN : Trotty also mentions that Dean has had an unbelievable pre-season.

Thats all folks!

Thanks Cookie,

Wonder what the outcome of Coleman and Akinde will be.

Fingers crossed.

Just a pity that it seems Rob Owen has gone off the radar-as he seemed to be the type of player we really needed.

Agree that Paul Smith could be worth at least 3 extra points this season

Thanks Cookie. Doesn't look as though we have an exciting squad. A good combination of youth and experience.

In the Hendon Times, there's much talk of the Morecambe v Barnet clash and Paul Fairclough (Barnet boss) is celebrating his .

12th successive season as manager.

Hendon's manager Gary McCann is bullish about the forthcoming season.

Its always exciting this time of the season, and have a feeling we may well do pretty good.

Your implication JCJ is that last season, Mitten,Oates ,Donovan and Abbott were 'exciting'.

Even Danny was not exciting-created excitement when he scored-but so does anyone.Whether DH was 'exciting' is open to debate i guess

Capable yes-not sure i would entirely agree they were 'exciting' players.

Just need an extra defender and central midfield player to me-maybe Owen can do both roles.

Michaelmichael. I don't think you can come to the conclusion that I thought that Donovan amongst others was/is exciting. Oates was better than the previous season. I was disappointed with Abbott. But his residency of Tottenham is clearly a problem. Donovan, for me is not a good player. Charlie is an outstanding goalkeeper and I wish him well at FIFC.

BTW, who will you following at FGR. FGR or Gloucester City?
