Club announcement this morning:

STARKEY & McPHEE SIGN FOR THE FLEET

Liam Daish has confirmed that Ebbsfleet United have completed the signing of Phil Starkey and Chris McPhee on the eve of the club's first ever competitive match.

"Phil and Chris have done very well during our pre season preparations" said Daish. "Both players are able to add to the depth we have in the squad and they bring versatility to our playing resources which will be invaluable during the forthcoming season."

Starkey, who most usually plays as a right sided defender, will be 20 years old next month. He has been a professional with Crystal Palace.

Striker Chris McPhee made his Brighton debut aged only 16 at Swansea in 1999 and played for Aldershot and Swindon on loan before joining Torquay at the start of last season. McPhee is 24 years old and featured in the Fleet's last pre season match at Eastbourne, his home town.
