Today's Echo says Danny Hill and Tom Poole have both been outed.

 

Squad is looking very small now, I take it there will be a new player(s)on their way in.

Tom has, imo become a bit stale, he hasn't shown of late that spark which was evident at Exeter and Wimbledon a few seasons ago, so rather than us keep him hanging around the fringes of our squad, it was better that we released him to move on and further his carrer elsewhere.

 

It was a tough decision for Matt to let Danny go, anyone who has played first team football for Tottenham, Birmingham, Watford, Cardiff and Dagenham, will always have something to offer, He is a great lad to have around the changing room and a true Gent as well. But Matt has to do what he believes is right for the club and this seasons push for promotion.

 

I think our squad size is ok UM, we have 18/19 players, all of which (If fit an eligible)can legitimately make a claim for a first team start. Not only that, the majority of our quad can play more than one position. I would say that our squad is as strong, if not stronger, than our oppositions this season.

Not suprised to see Tom go with the number of front players we have around us at the moment. Good luck to him and hope he gets sorted somewhere soon. The Dartford fans seem keen on him.

 

Danny Hill is a bit of a shock. Thought he'd looked "masterfull" in the PSF matches I've seen him play in. Always seems to have time and space on the ball to do something constructive; the quality shows.

 

But MJ's the man! I'm sure it was a tough decision not taken lightly.

Is Billy Holland still injuried or is he somewhere else as i see he hasnt playued any games yet the pre-season

Billy has just started training, so a long way behind the other lads in terms of fitness etc.

Disappointed to see Danny Hill go, always capable of finding time and space on the ball. Poole stood no chance of getting in the side, a move should do him good.

it is rumoured that tom poole is signing for tiptree which is a good move if true. tiptree are an ambitious club with a new ground looking to take the club to the next level like sudbury did. Colin Wallington and brad king have a great squad of players and shows they mean business this season and im guessing tom wants to be a part o it.

Tiptree have had some great results and tom will add strength to the team. At toms age he needs to be playing regular.

Not surprised Poole has gone. I still believe that he has the ability to succeed at this level but he needs to want to do it more. I agree with TC that a move for Tom will ultimately help him.

 

Bit surprised about Danny. I think he could genuinely say that he has never really been given an opportunity, mind you that is down to the good form of others. But if Matt felt that it was likely that it would be another season of bench-sitting for him, then it's probably in everyone's best interests that he try elsewhere. I wish Danny all the best, he's a nice bloke.

 

I think Danny Morgan repeated the dose from last season and has gone somewhere else.

Hopefully i'm wrong in my judgement but if there is a couple of injuries in defence or centre midfield could be dodgy imo with the season starting next week.

sorry to bring this thread up again but today was rubbish!!!

 

Even after several beers i'm still lets sort it out before another season gone
