Slough's pre-season campaign finishes on Saturday as they make a trip over to Essex to face Canvey Island FC.

 

Canvey, much like ourselves, had problems which ended their stay in the Conference and they took a three division drop ahead of the 2006-7 season which saw them placed into the Ryman Division One North. Following a successful campaign last season, they will be looking to make the jump back up a level with promotion to the Ryman Premier.

 

Darron Wilkinson's side will have to improve on recent results if they are to gain anything from the friendly at Park Lane, which kicks off at 3pm.

 

Admission prices are:

Adults: £5

Concessions: £3

Accompanied U12's: £1

 

Whilst I'm tempted to travel over and complete the full set of pre-season friendlies, I don't think I want to be that far away from a heavily pregnant wife! Might see a small few of you there.

Anyone going by train on Saturday, it takes about 2hr10 from Slough, and a 20min bus ride at the other end from Benfleet Station to about 2mins walk from the stadium.

Should be a good test of the team, especially if we can have the majority of the squad there. I will be going up there with Mark44, so hopefully will see a few other Rebels there. I'm hoping that we can pick up a decent result.
