spread the word and attendences

Recommended Posts

Most my mates are DFC, Charlton or Gillingham so cant try to convince them to watch future conference champs lol ,

But i think with the new sponsors some of our new signings and the new name we might just attract a few more supporters and maybe the woodwork supporters will start to come out!

I think we will beat a majority of our attendances from last season but there should be some advetising maybe around gravesend town there nether seems to be that much when we have our home games on?

Yeah ive seen them but then that would involve printing off a load and taking them round to every cafe, pub, shop, newsagent etc just to get the extra publicity.

We need a better advertising procedure i.e freepost, flyers leaflets events etc to promote Ebbsfleet United, if you go to dartford or gillingham theres always banners and posters to promote them everywhere you look. We need some sort of support like that from our fans but we need to get them down the shed?????

Like i said maybe and hopefully the new name and sponsors might make this happen for us.

What support obviously you seem fleet blooded like most of us on the forum but like i said its the woodwork suporters that might just come out this season and il put that down to the new name and sponsor and once the station and ebbsfleet village development is all up and running we will atrract double the fans that we average now!!!!

Plus once we gain our promotion this season it will make an impact but seriously we really have got to have a look to get a new ground somewhere although the shed is memorible for many of us avid supporters out there its not going to stand much longer and if we want to boost attendances and popularity we might have to look into the future!

im not sure theres many "woodwork/casual fans" that are going to suddenly appear now we are ebbsfleet utd. I reckon we will get the same gates as last year, maybe a few extra. It will depend on results and advertising as to whether overall we are slightly up or slightly down on last year.

Interesting thought that some of you think the signings will attract new fans

As a loyal fan I come every week whoever is playing for us but I have a lot of "casual fan mates" - About ten I would say + their sons. All of which normally watch Premiership Clubs but will come on "away days" for their team if we are doing well.

All of them have said that losing Charlie will make them NOT come and watch and that the club has no ambition by letting its best player go (+ a lot said that how stupid the club must have been to not have him on contract and get a fee)

It will be interesting to see the attendances

Do you realistically think the club could have kept Charlie? Probably did well to get him to extend his contract beyond his first season and as soon as Charlie realised he was still in a rich vein of form, there was no way he was going to sign a contract to limit any future plans to move back into the League.

Anyway, we're not the only ones. York lost Donaldson to a pre-contract agreement when they were bargaining on getting a shedload of cash for him by selling him during the transfer window. Unfortunately, most of the power is with the player now, and most of those moving up leagues can afford to hang around and hedge their bets rather than commit to much more than a year.

Stu

I am just telling you what the feedback is I've got from some actual aforementioned casual fans

Like I said, I have about 10 friends + their boys in this catagory and this is their view

So there's about 15 people who we've lost

Its not an opinion its a fact

Sorry for mentioning it but it just seemed odd that people were thinking this year's weaker squad will attract more casual fans

Its like any team though unless your big guns like chelsea, manu, arsenal etc players want to progress and for those who go from club to club, as long as they are playing for a team thats what matters!

Charlie served us well and was a good signing but he obviously wanted a new succession elsewhere.

We have signed some good potential fleet stars not saying they are going to replace charlie that will be almost mission impossible but as long as we got a team we are still THE FLEET.

I know il still be there supporting my team but im there for the club not the players.

Going out now so no time for chit chat but i wana here those voices tomo in the plough end!!!!!!

COME ON THE FLEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Highlights how little your friends actually KNOW about football at this level really RR. And they haven't been lost, they just don't know what they are missing! Can almost guarantee to you that if Fleet were doing badly last year they wouldn't have turned up, Charlie Mac or not! And we have a good season, and are challenging at the end, they will come back!

What facts are you talking about? The only fact I can see is that your mates are of the opinion that the club sold out by letting Charlie go.

So the only fact I can see is they are in all likelihood mistaken.
