Rob Haworth

This may have dawned on a few before me, but apart from the fact that he seems a mighty fine player, and a jolly splendid chap aswell,;from the clubs update this morning ,it states that he has signed for the club.

As before,he was apparently only on non contract terms, and thus could upsticks at one weeks notice, hopefully this mornings news means he has signed a 'proper contract' for at least the season ;and is 'our man'.

Good on you Rob-you may not get 35 goals but reckon tyou will get over 20 and above all, make many many more for others

Didn't notice the required Northern Irish accent.

Going to be a great addition to the squad with his height he dose`nt lose many of those high up and here comes the ball situations , holds the ball very well and can set up plenty of chances this season i hope . I would stick him up front with Pinns and slip Side in just behind them to feed the balls through creating those chances we all want to see .

Yianni Macca JJ

Side

Pinns Howarth

Up the Gate , can`t wait

Think we need to keep to four in midfield, but need 3/4 strikers to cover injuries, suspensions, fantastic cup runs, etc. so all of Haworth,Pinns,Side and i guess Bagley will get their chances.

Will we miss danny's goals-yes.

Will Rob score as many-probably no.

Will the side score as many overall-could well do.

Will Rob create more than Danny-yes.

Whatever happens, the goals are created in the main from midfield with a few from interpassing of the strikers-not too much of that last season, but you can't knock DH's contribution.

Equally-how many did we score from our many corners last season-not many/not enough for the number of corners we won.

Will we score more from corners this season with RH -probably yes

Overall, with midfield creating,Rob scoring and creating,Pinns and Side getting a fair share,we should be no worse off up front and possibly even better.

Key is the midfield imo

I read on the Bromley forum that Danny's (lack of) workrate is already causing mild concern.can only get away with it ,all the time he is scoring.

I really think we are better off with RH and a co-striker this season

Danny's contribution was massive last season but I believe too we will do better with Rob and other strikers in the side, especially regarding the work rate.

Think it's a bit strange to question Danny's workrate. Personally, I felt that, excluding towards the end of the season when he appeared physically drained, his workrate was faultless. He ran the channels, chasing lost causes, and always gave 100%.

Danny wasn't a work horse compared to others Mike. He did however know how to score goals hence his 40 goals & was very good at positioning himself to score those goals.

I heard that Danny has put on a few more pounds in weight this season(not sure if true) & according to reports from Saturday he tended to drift out of the game (didn't he do that here on a few occasions too).

Rob in contrast has GREAT workrate. I would say the opposite to that of Dannys. He can also head the ball too. Something Danny wasn't that great at either. Rob is going to get quite a few goals this season & I wouldn't be surprised to see him score around 30 this season himself .He wants to score but also gives others opportunities to score.

We may have lost a goalscoring machine but Rob has other attributes that could cause even further panic in oppositions defences & he CAN score too. He looks fit & is vocal with encouragement to others around him. Another thing Danny wasn't good at despite being skipper.. He is a HUNGRY fella is Rob & I think we have a more than adequate replacement for Danny. Only time will tell what his goal tally will be,but in time I'm sure he will get one & a more than respectable one at that.

Don't forget "DH" played a lot of the second half of the season carrying an injury. "Good luck" Danny.

Is it me or do we look like a team with a bench this season.

Competition for places is something we weren't blessed with last season. With 17 already signed up now it looks like competition for a starting spot is strong this season. That will help matters this season. No-ones going to ASSUME they have a place & will have to WORK to keep it.

Last season players were playing despite having bad games. There was no competition for places.

The only real competition for places was with our two goalkeepers.

Do you recall how after 1 error or maybe 2 they got dropped & replaced. This was because in that position we had competition,us having two cracking good keepers. Some said Charlie got a better rub of the green with that one.

But yes Graeme there WILL be some players spare at times.
