Yes but Martin wasn't at Brimsdown Rovers was he, he was at Eton Manor.

No I'm not saying that at all, you are just confusing the issue. What I am saying is that Brimsdown Rovers and Eton Manor are Worlds apart in terms of stature and if Martin was at Goldsdown Road he wouldn't dream of jumping ship as soon as another Club, ie Harlow Town, came knocking at the door.

So, let's get this right, as you disappear down yet another hole you've dug yourself into. You are saying that he WOULD dream of jumping ship at Eton Manor then?

What hole, Martin didn't jump ship at Eton Manor and simply left for family reaons, he had only been at the Club for five minutes anyway yet still left them in good shape. Boateng on the other hand had laid the foundations for bigger and better things to come and the expectations for next season were huge with him firmly at the helm yet suddenly, just over a week before the season is due to start, he's gone in a puff of smoke.

Two things here.

Firstly, if the story that I heard behind Gordon Boateng's move to Harlow is true, then it makes perfectly reasonable sense to me and would have done to the Committee of Brimsdown Rovers as well. However, as I haven't been able to verify the story, there's no point posting it on here just yet.

Secondly, according to the official Eton Manor statement, Martin Ash chose to leave the club. If you think Gordon Boateng jumped ship, then the same terminology must be applied to Martin Ash.

One point did confuse me in the Ash story though. He said that he left EM to spend more time with the family, then in a post that Cecil made and claimed it quoted Ash, he appeared to imply that he was already in another football post. That bit just doesn't add up. Does it Cecil? Or have I read that bit wrong?

Not in the slightest, TheSpursFan has summed it up to a tee and I wonder whether he might be pshycic, since Martin left Eton Manor for family reasons he has been acting as an unpaid consultant to Bethnal Green United, about 200 yards from his front door in Victoria Park.

3praise seems to be in the know that 'the great' Tommy Lambourne is player manager of Bethnal Green United and as Tommy's dad, Dave, and Martin are joined at the hip you are possibly right for once although I don't think he's in any rush to manage a team again in his own right.

clip Rods, have you noticed that one of the Martin Ash threads on the Eton Manor forum has been deleted? That's why we need a moderator on here so that your trash can be deleted when everyone gets bored of it and to stop you regurgitating threads from many months ago for no obvious reason other than being too lazy to start a new thread.

My vote is still for NF to moderate this forum.

Yes I had noticed that actually and was quite surprised although I think the title of the thread was a little offensive which is possibly the reason why.
