Since when has the website been sponsored? Who sorted that out, and what's the deal? Free tiles for everyone? Has the pitch run out of grass?

An analogy:

 

You are the boss of a firm that goes round to people's houses and washes cars. You take on two trainees. To the first, you tell him that there is a car that needs washing on York Road, Camp Road, Hedley Road and London Road. The trainee goes out, washes the cars, does an excellent job, and comes back. To the second trainee, you say that there is a car that needs washing on Ashley Road, Clarence Road, Park Avenue, and Sutton Road. The trainee goes out, washes all 4 cars, and then goes to surrounding roads and asks if anyone needs their car washed. 6 people say yes, and so the trainee washes six more cars before returning.

 

Which trainee do you hire?

 

 

Simpler analogy:

AFF and GHA set up two rival websites. After 3 weeks, AFF's website is flourishing, a real professional job, and he sells it to Canvey for £15 million. GHA's website is still hosted by geocities, and is crap. GHA asks AFF how he (AFF) sold his website for such a huge sum, how come he made his website so good? 'That'd be telling' replies AFF. 3 more weeks go by. GHA's website is a failure, and he is declared bankrupt. His house is repossessed and he ends up living on the street. Merely by chance (and accident), AFF is driving through the neighbourhood. GHA stops him and starts conversing. 'Please, please tell me why your website was so great,' says GHA. 'Well,' says AFF. 'The day after I set up the website I went to local businesses etc and e-mailed some national corporations. I asked them if they would consider sponsoring the site. The response I got was overwhelming, the hits increased dramatically, and I was able to make the website better and better. That's a point actually, GHA. Why didn't you get sponsorship for your website? Then you'd be really rich like me.' GHA looked downcast. 'No one offered.'
