Interesting read Cookie , i would have thought that Greg would have found a club by now or maybe he has decided to hang up his boots .

I think Greg still has alot to give though even if he has to drop a league to get a game , he may not be so quick anymore but there is still plenty of experience he can share with another club . Like the way Trotty says its nice not to be as busy as last yr ? . Up the Gate.

I say get him re signed. Offer a slight cut in wages for budgetry reasons ( surely why he was let go in the first place ). A solid player who is Margate through and through, no fee and more importantly in my opinion, defence is where we are going to have a weakness and will slip up when suspensions and injuries kick in and even if they don't we are still unbelieveably lightweight in this department.

Go on Trott-swallow some pride and do the right thing-remember how much we are in need of a decent defender, and it'll make nearly all Gate fans happy!

Personally, i think RT has released Greg at the right time.Tremendous service, but the right time(like the timing of CK releasing braithwaite ).

 

I think we have sufficient cover at full back-Smith can play either side and dean left back, plus have we any young reserves coming through-Saul Anderton ?

 

But totally agree that we are very very short in centre defence.

Young9has he signed anyway) and who else ?Maybe LS-but not sure he is quite there to play 50 games in centre of defence yet
