The Deletion Of A Thread - Replies available

At certain points yesterday, and earlier on this morning, I have to admit I was getting one or two small pangs of guilt about the accidental deletion of the "ripped off music" thread.

But seeing some of the ridiculously over-the-top reactions from various posters today (you know who you are!) has just made me laugh.

Are there really no more pressing matters in your lives than a 930-odd list of songs posted on an Internet Message Board??

If that is the case, well I wish my own life was so care-free!

So, if I've ruined your fun, or worse still, ruined your life - then I'm truly sorry.

As far as I'm concerned, the subject is now closed.

So to speak!!

Zeal. Was the thread so imposing upon your life that you felt the need to delete it? Is there no more pressing matter in your life than becoming a moderator so you can delete it?

Zeal. Not everyone thinks the same way you do. I've got a feeling that the subject, unlike the thread, is still open, alive and kicking.

p.s. Are you still thinking about deleting 'Word association?'

Hi GHA.

That quote from Moderator#3. I can't see the original thread from which you have taken it. Can you tell me where it's from?

He's obviously showing contrition, which is re-assuring.

I'm intrigued at how these people can "accidently" delete a thread. What does that involve, I wonder. I'm concerned that it may be something as simple as reading the thing and "accidently" pressing Control, Alt, F1, F12 and Delete [at the same time, of course]. Hey Presto. Thread deleted. 'Nothing to do with me, guv.' 'I didn't realise that would happen.' Careless, but an "accident" that could happen to anyone, of course.

Perhaps we should be told in order that we can avoid such unfortunate "accidents" in the future.

AFF. The thread was entitled The Deletion Of A Thread, was posted by Colin Zeal, had 26 views and 0 replies last time I checked, and was posted on 26/02/03 04:43 PM.

The thread was initially locked and closed, meaning that no-one could reply. I thought that the thread merited response, and so therefore reposted it.

A quick point. Why has Colin Zeal EFM changed his name to Colin Zeal??? This strikes me as most intriguing. Perhaps you aren't allowed to be a moderator and be in EFM at the same time. Perhaps Zeal is no longer in EFM. Perhaps he's ashamed of his roots. Perhaps he doesn't recognise the firm anymore. Perhaps he was punishing himself for the deletion of the music thread.

Zeal. What's the real reason?

Dunno what Super Daz is talking about. Or SSL come to that. But anyway. Zeal. What's the reason for your new dissassociation with EFM? No EFM at the end of your name, no EFM signature. You'll be telling us you're a moderator on a nonleague message board soon.

Seriously, why??
