Admission Prices

Recommended Posts

General admission will be £13 and concessions(Senior Citizens, under 16ths and students) will be £7 on production of an ID.

But youngsters will be able take advantage of a season ticket offer by joining the club's Junior Fleet scheme which will give members access to all home league games for a one of payment of £25.

"We have reluctantly had to increase general admission prices" said Fleet Chairman Jason Botley. "But we have done a lot of research and found that - in the southern area of the Blue Square Premier - we still have one of cheapest admission prices."

"We have also introduced student concessions and our Junior Fleet scheme is really taking off. For under 16s to be able to watch every home league game for a total of £25 is a real bargain and we are finding that this is proving really popular, especially with youth football clubs. In fact, Guru Nanak FC have signed up all of their youth players for the scheme and that involves over 100 players."

It would have been nice if the club had made this information available earlier. It would have stopped me from buying an £80 season ticket for my son

Oh well, I suppose it is all money for the club, so I won't complain too loudly.

Although, I am not so philanthropic that I won't buy one of these memberships for him next year

It seems they should have sorted out cheap student entry before fixing season ticket prices for the season. I'm certainly not complaining they've finally brought in a student discount, but it must be very annoying for those students who have already splashed out on a season ticket this season.

Cheers,

Why is this annoying?

OAPs get in for reduced rates owing to their lack of money, so why shouldn't students, who will end three years of studies with massive debts?

And before you ask, yes I am employed and currently working between 30 and 40 hours a week. This is to fund an MA which costs £3,000 in tuition fees alone.

OAPS,or Senior Citizens, as I thought they were called now, have probably spent many years(and lots of money), supporting the club.

They have probably worked all their lives, and the reduction in Admission prices is a 'Thank you' for these facts!

I know students aren't all the same, but the ones that used to drink in my local, always seemed to have plenty of money for beer!

Anyway.....I feel that I am a sort of student myself so may qualify for a discount ? i.e. I like getting p*ssed & am a Levellers fan !!

My debt is also a lot more than 3K, thank you very much. Furthermore, one is unlikely to take out a mortgage without making sure one's wages support it. Students hardly have a choice when their debt must be repaid (unless they want to work for less than 14k for the rest of their lives.

I must apologize for not being born 65 years ago. I have also spent many years and lots of money supporting the club. Furthermore, I would have attended more games during the last two years had a student rate been introduced sooner. It is the club that has been losing out.

Surely there's no argument that these groups also deserve a discount? Did I ever suggest they don't? Similarly, the club have been missing a trick for a long time not offering a student discount, so surely it's a good thing they have finally implemented one?

Actually thought it was a very fair comparison! Same kinda sized club, same kinda attendances, same kinda area, similar competition from higher league clubs... whats NOT fair as a comparison?

Ok...this is my last one on this topic...

I am glad that one's fiscal strategy appears to be sound although, even if one's wages support one's mortgage repayments, one will still be in debt to one's Lender.

A lot of people do ( and have to !) work for less than £14k a year, ex student or not.

Anyway, roll on Saturday ! Hope the bar is well stocked !

Cheers,

beer
