Rob played for Margate today and it seems he was previously at Stonebridge Road. Can anyone shed any light on him?

A grafter and a hard-worker, was never the shining light of our team and was an unspectacular centre-mid, seemed to always give his all!

in my eyes . absolute legend.

 

we both worked in London and would bump him on the train on the way to mid week away games. Often both late as just finished work, and he then put in full 90 minutes of conference football.

 

Our level of football at moment means no place for Rob and his ilk, but a damned fine footballer and person

We miss players like Rob Owen (along with Jacko and Matt Lee) who never put anything less than 100% into every game.

He's a great player to have in any side played well for us.

 

I used to watch him now and again when we didn't have a game when he was at welling he had a good time there and scored a few goals.

 

All the best to Rob and the rest of the lads at Margate who are ex-fleet.
