I understand from the Slough Forum the final result was:-

Dorking 1 - Slough 0. (Thanks, Gary from Slough)

Apologies for lack of report. Holidays and family commitments I'm afraid.

Match report put together from various sources.

Our Sincere Thanks to Gary STFC for his input.

"A fantastic display by Dorking keeper John Mcbride not only saw Chicks go over 458 pre season minutes without conceding a goal, but ensured Dorking made it 4 wins and a draw this pre-season out of 5 games

Slough Town are of course an ex Conference side who have fallen on harder times of late, but being from the Southern League provided Dorking another higher league scalp, although this match was certainly the hardest Chicks have played to date as they build towards the new season.

Dorking owed their win to a goal from Justin Georgiou in the second half, although both sides created plenty of chances, Dorking missing an open goal in the second half when the keeper had been rounded, but Slough also created plenty of chances only to be thwarted by the inspired McBride in the Dorking goal

The game was marred by the double sending off of Darren Brown for Dorking and a Slough player in the second half after an altercation, but that could not take the shine off another consistent performance for Tony Webb's side as they build towards the new season with growing confidence

Dorking face Reading Town away on Saturday in their first game of the season in the Combined Counties Premier League, before a tough looking home game on Tuesday 14 August, kick off 7-45pm, against Banstead Athletic, one of the sides tipped to challenge for a good season and naming ex Chicks Craig Duffell and Dean Milton in their side.

Dorking will once more be admitting children for free to games this season at their Meadowbanlk home, one of the few senior sides in the Combined Counties League to run such a scheme. Dorking FC have run the kids for free policy for almost a decade now., as the club strives to push forward its youth friendly policies that will see Chicks run its Under 18 side in the prestigious Southern Youth League, as well as contunue to support its successful Dorking Girls FC sides and the growing affiliation with the strong Brockham Badgers set up which sees 350 plus local youngsters playing the sport in the heart of Mole Valley."
