Rob Brassett - It was not me and i am just as interested to know who it is speaking for the club as you all are

So in my capacity as Media Secretary for Brimsdown Rovers I will give you the information as i know it

While sitting in the Bar some 30 minutes after the game on Wednesday night having My Birthday Drink with my 2 nephews Secretary peter Wade informed me Gordon had just had a meeting with Gary Brooker and was leaving to join Harlow Town as Full Time Assistant Manager.

He then added Merv will be taking over as Manager.

Later in the evening Peter Wade said to me I will find out if you can put it on the web-site he then returned saying Gary says you can put it on the site.

This I did via the new shout box i have introduced this week

Now

1 to my knowledge no one at Brimsdown excpet Gordon had any idea he was leaving

2. No approach as far as i know was made to the Club asking to talk to our Manager

3. I have no knowledge of

quote Mrgallis

As part of this move an arrangement has been agreed between the two clubs regarding the development and progression of players from both teams.

unquote

4 Merv is our manager

5 Rudi comfirmed to me he was staying

6 as far as i know there has only been mention of one player joining Harlow but again no 7 day approach has been made for any players and they are now all signed on with the SSML

7 left in the lurch maybe for a few minutes and then Merv was in the job so not really at all

8 from no on i will come on here more and participate in this forum

9 Peter Wade is on the so could have posted

10 It could be Gary Brooker but if so why give me permission to put it out he could have done that himslef

11 before anyone starts on again about who i do and dont support

I support Enfield my club dies 3 weeks ago i now support Enfield 1893 son of Enfield FC.

12 All at Brimsdown look forward to playing in the Premier Division once again hopefully i will meet up with some old friends from my Pottters Bar Town and Somersett Ambury days in the SSML and have a goo season

Brimo will finish in the top 6

Thanks you

Rob Brassett

Club Sec - Thanks for your informative post. I spent most of today at Goldsdown Road but unfortunately didn't see anybody I knew from Brimsdown Rovers to get any gossip from the horses mouth as it were, I thought there might be someone there even with Enfield Town playing Cambridge City.

well there was loads of Brimo peple around on satursday so someone could have put you right but i would suggest you need to bring plenty of money and start buying beers and some of your comments about people and things in and around the club have not gone down to well

maybe you should keep under the radar for a while

Club sec - Sincere apologies if I have ruffled feathers in the corridors of power at Goldsdown Road as that certainly wasn't my intention, you may have heard on the grapevine that I will be keeping my head below the parapet for a full week as long as Football Man doesn't attend the Potters Bar Town v Cockfosters Herts Senior Cup tie at Parkfield.

Despite what you say I did not see anyone I recognised from Brimsdown Rovers when I was at Goldsdown Road on Saturday for the live Radio London broadcast, did you not have an away friendly fixture out of interest.

Thanks for that, strange then that I didn't see aybody I knew particularly inside the boardroom during the live broadcast and afterwards when it continued off air, was Peter Wade or Gary Brooker there.

Club Sec - I'm still waiting for a reply, how many members of your Club were at Goldsdown Road last Saturday and how many of those sat in on the live BBC Radio London broadcast in your boardroom, also were Peter Wade and Gary Brooker present.

  • 3 weeks later...

Questionning the desire of his players won't do Gordon any favours at Harlow Town that's for sure!

'Sugar' and 3praise style you mean. It might work at Brimsdown but I just have one of my gut feelings that his comments will work against him at Harlow.

Yes but he has only been there for five minutes hasn't he and is already laying the law down which some players won't appreciate particulary with morale at a low ebb.

No disrespect to Arla but I thought they punched above their true weight last season and so this Ryman Prem campaign was always going to be damned tough. Perhaps they recognised that and brought in Gordon for his motivational stuff and the fact that he does know a lot of players. The Ryman Prem is a different breed to Divs 1 and attitude and committment of the players has to be spot on. If not you'll end up the whipping boys.

Yes and that's how it's looking for Harlow this season, I thought Gordon was wise enough to see the writing on the wall and know which side his bread was buttered on by staying at Brimsdown for another season at least.
