Ampthill Town 3 v 0 Bigg Town

Recommended Posts

Wader - Did you manage to find out where Stuart Reynolds has gone although the result would indicate that he might have had a change of heart and is still at Ampthill Park.

Didn't ask about Reynolds, I assumed he was playing. Homepage on the website has a short news piece and Newsline on BTFC Radio (also accessed from the homepage) sums it up. The players who were there probably learnt a lot from this defeat. Jack Weeden looked superb (1st half). The sooner Greenpiece, Friends Of The Earth, Knit Your Own Yogurt Monthly, and The Tree Huggers Journal force all airports to close down the better -- players bludy holidays!

Report on the game as nobody seems to want to give it! Biggleswade created chances first half, didnt seem under much pressure but dreadful marking on a corner lead to a header from 3 yards out. Biggleswade could and should have scored 2 or 3 but poor finishing and a goaline clearance meant this wasnt the case. Around 7 changes were made at half time and Biggleswade faded as Ampthill got brighter, they continued pushing and found a further two goals and were by far the better team second half. Dont think too much can be read into the game really though

I heard that even people from as far afield as Potton and Langford take that paper!

You're not joking. Apparantly someone in the BP garage just off the A1 saw a copy, once.

We are only on the front page because we have banned them from attending our 'home' games and now refuse to make any comment to their deranged sports writer. They've thrown a hissy fit and obviously in a slow news week for Biggleswade have gone front page with that high profile news. Zzzzzzzzzz

Stevie, their complete lack of interest in the club, apart from trying to put us down all the time (their pet club is Bigg Utd), means that banning them is not only a great story (that they have gone front page with, hahaha) it also gives us the profile they denied us before. I'm sure it will blow over at some point. But for now it's all quite funny and gets all 42 people interested in sport who read it, talking about Bigg Town.

It's all about lazy journalism, constant sniping, bias to the other team in town and a lack of anything resembling the facts. That's what happens when a slothful journo who's been in the job far too long is allowed to dictate to his editor what he says and does. Frankly it's all a bit parochial and snoozy from a loacl paper for local people that thinks its the News Of The World.

Presumably you get your best coverage in the award winning "Beds on Sunday"?
