Dorking's Pitch

Recommended Posts

...... and at least you have a decent view of the surrounding countryside.

I did read on one football site that Meadowbank can be 'proud of the fact that it has one of the best views from any football ground in the country'

It's just a shame that a certain M.V.D.C. doesn't seem to appreciate that !!!

dorking ad says Indeed, Webb is in such a positive frame of mind ahead of the new campaign he believes his side can even turn the state of the notorious Meadowbank playing surface to their advantage.

"The pitch is bumpy and hard but it's never nice for the teams who come here," said Webb.

"All the lads think that we can benefit from this and if we can turn Meadowbank into a fortress this year I think we can have a very successful season."

The main bone of contention is the goal mouth at the club-house end.

It had to be completely re-turfed. It was given enough height as it was assume it would settle, which it didn't, even with the copious amount of rain we have had of late.

I understand this problem is going to be dealt with in the coming days.

The referee at Tuesdays evening game against Molesey didn't make any comment after his pitch inspection.

Then you might have seen me TRS !!! Depends what time you walked past. I was clearing rubbish from the stands and dug-outs.

Pitch aint too bad. Firm to soft.

Yes it was Mr C doing a grand job.

For anyone popping down to Meadowbank this afternoon, I'm on the gate, so say 'hallo' !
