IDIOTS BEHIND THE GOAL

1 TOOTH

"this was the point when I went to the toilet"

When the going gets tough, the tough go to the toilet !!

Only a joke ....only a joke.....just couldn't resist that one !

Older viewers may recall an episode of Whatever Happened to The Likely Lads ( screened early 1974 !!)entitled Conduct Unbecoming in which the theme was that one of them was in the toilet when an "argument" developed in the pub.

God I am bored today !! Roll on Aug 11th !

Cheers,

We wish we could, but do we really want our heads kicked in? (yes I'm being wimpish, I have little muscle lol). Us as fans are powerless in telling them directly.

Kev. It aint the fact of getting your head kicked in. If you challenge these people and it does kick off then you are seen in the same light as a trouble maker and will get tarred with the same brush. If these supporters are known to the club then it is the clubs priority to remove them via the stewards (that is what they get paid to do).

I've been thinking about all this fiasco, and truthfully, I did not see the whole of what went on. I was only going by what I heard, so is not the most reliable of sources. All I did see was the Charlton fans giving hand gestures and pointing to certain members of the crowd in the Plough End, and then our fan, moments later, being escourted out. We all got angry because he was doing it towards everyone who was standing up, and cheering our team on. Maybe our fan didn't like the hand gestures what the Charlton fan was doing to all of us, which is fair play. If this is the case, I don't think a ban is essential for sticking up for his own fans. From what I saw of the Charlton fan, he should have been escourted out, the way he was going on, plus when our fan was escourted out I notice his jumper had been ripped.

But I didn't see all of what went on, I was watching the game. I think this should all be forgotten about and all of us should look forward to a good season.

It was decided that at the start of last seasons that only those around the drum can stand as long as there don't get in anyone's way and as long as the hole stand dose not stand up all everyone has to sit, so if you lot want to seat down so does the lot by the drum, and it a hard job being a steward and take all the abuse from you lot because we get in the way or your told to do some think and don't so you start swearing, and it's only the loyal fan's that don't swear and do just what there came here to do and watch a match. if any of you can do think you a job of a steward and take it with out losing your head i like to see you try.

don't get me wrong i love being there but it get tough when fans tell you were to go because your just doing your job, and most fan are helpful but it always a few that are there for a fight with the away fans. every club has them there no doubt about that and not every club get's to ban those how cause trouble i know gray's athletics has some and so do southend utd so i not having a go but try so see it from your side.

the millwall match there were 24 of us to what 1,700 fans and yes we'ed did have police there but there ther for support only there's not always a police there only 1 or 2 and that it so next time your at a game just think of what it's like from our side please

If this is an example of the intelligence, and education of a Steward, God help Ebbsfleet, and all who sail in her!

Being very close to what happened at Charlton, though not condoning what happened, it is wrong to lay the blame at out fans when the away support were very much in the wrong. Firstly there were a couple of teenagers wandering though the home end, one in particular took great delight in kissing the badge on his shirt. The Charlton fan who was involved in the main issue did indeed give the “five knuckle shuffle” gesture to the home fans and was very much guilty of egging things on, and winding up the home fans. I did see him beckon the Fleet fan over in a “come on then” type way just after we scored out third goal. There was the spitting incident but I cant be sure what happened as by this point things had turned ugly and the Police had just arrived on scene.

It is obvious to everyone that segregation has to be enforced. There seems to be a new trend of opposition fans coming into the home end and “giving it large” I was present (with my young son) at both the Millwall and Northwich games and how do you think they would react to a few Fleet fans going in the home end in a similar manner??? We all know the answer to that…..

Not dismissing your points, but anyone who gets provoked by seeing someone else kiss their badge or going 'come on then', even in an aggressive manner, could really do with chilling out a bit more!

Next thing you know, opposing fans will be called provocational, for celebrating a goal. shocked

The first two or three posts I have put up, I have apologised for. At the time of writing these posts, I was so 'peed' off at what happened because we are trying to attract more and more fans to the club, especially young children, and the club's average attendances are low enough as it is. After the events of the Charlton game, this is not what children or their parents want to see. I saw young choldren at that match and they were scared stiff at what they saw.

To avoid this we really need segregation in place, however small or large the game is, to avoid the away fans coming up our home end and causing trouble and giving hand gestures and such things towards our fans. This may cost money, ie for catering facilities for the away fans, but it could pay off for those extra fans that come through the gate.

If anyone thinks that kissing a Charlton badge at the home supporters end is a valid reason for starting trouble they should not be allowed into the ground.

You are right Slarti. But it isn't the badge kissing that causes trouble it's the manner in which it is done. Especially as that fan was in the home end. You would't expect a Millwall fan to kiss the badge of his shirt whilst standing in the chicken run at West Ham. In fact he probably wouldn't have made it that far. The sad thing is that in the past crowd trouble was never a issue down at the Fleet. I'm sure these issues will disappear as quick as they came and we can get on with a decent season trouble free.
