A view of one of our rivals

I took in Tonbridge Angels vs Tunbridge Wells tonight. An average game redally that Angels won 3-0 at a canter. Points for me were:

James D - gave the ball away twice in dangerous positions (for his own side) and was completely out-shone by Steve Aris who looked classy albeit against Kent League Opposition.

Scott Gooding looked very comfortable in goal. Came early and collected everything.

Hamid Barr showed some god touches in attacking midfield role and scored a nice goal.

Jon Main did score after coming on as first half sub, but he was kept quiet for most of the time by the Wells' defence.

Powell looked powerful up front but everyone only seems to step it up when Main is on the pitch. Talking of which, the usual bobbly surface at Longmeade - very different looking from Ray's lush surface at Hartsdown.

See / speak to you Saturday.

Wellsie. One point Scott Gooding is the coloured right back/captain! lol and the keeper is matt reed.

that was our poorest performance so far in pre season. the young lad that went off first half for main who was injured they think may have broken his ankle no idea how though!!

i hope you were near enough our end second half to hear the scum of tunbridge wells calling our chairman a c**t.

quality goal from barr.

Donovan has been very good in pre-season so far! Aris will be third choice behind donners and beales once bealesys suspension has passed i think.

I wonder if both Main and Hockton 'peaked' last season.

MFC may have done good business with regard to selling Danny at the right time.

If nothing else, will he remain uninjured for Bromley like he miraculously did for Margate last season. On the other hand, they may get him fitter and working harder.

Thks TAFCM, I was a little confused by the team announcement. Anyway, I thought the keeper looked sound and yes, your full back looked good too. Surprised about Aris - he looked much more competent than Donovan. Strangely though, Donovan always seemed to me to play better for us when Trott wasn't on the pitch.

It looked a bad injury to the player in the first half - he received treatent for a long time and then hobbled round to the changing rooms on his dodgy ankle, so I hope he didn't make it any worse.

I didn't hear the Wells fans personally, but I was aware of some concern about some of their behaviour.

See you at ours on 1st September.
