Another 2 dropped points

Recommended Posts

By Farnboro' as they drew 0-0 tonight at home to Donny.

A win on Saturday and we could go level on points with them. I know they have games in hand, but with the distraction of the Trophy and the off field shenanigans, they could be a welcome addition to the relegation battle.

Could Westley take 2 clubs in the same division down ?

Up the Fleet !

Next Tuesday is a big night in the relegation battle, only four matches but three of them are very important to us:

dagenham and redbridge - v - stevenage borough

halifax town - v - yeovil town

leigh rmi - v - farnborough town

nuneaton borough - v - southport

So what we want to see is H, A, D, A

If we take the three points on Saturday then that sequence will make us feel a lot more comfortable, particularly when you remember that Leigh are at Nuneaton on Saturday, a draw there and a win for us means that neither of those sides can catch on games in hand.

Saturday is certainly a crucial day.

Getting 3 points is no foregone conclusion, either. No full backs. No Jacko. We're going to be fielding a far from first choice line up - again!

Burton have had a very poor run since their last win (1-0 at home to Nuneaton on New Year's Day?) but they're going to turn it around at some stage and they'll really be looking to start on Saturday. It's up to us to see we assert ourselves from the start and get in charge of the game. If we find ourselves on the back foot we're going to leak defensively and then heads might go down.

As we know, the crowd can play a huge part in motivating the team. Burton are well supported & despite being stuck in the Swanscombe End, they'll be capable of making alot of noise - if we let them. In the past Northfleet crowds had a tendency to be quiet until things started going our way and eerily silent if they didn't. Like the players, we have to be assertive from the start - and refuse to lie down if we suffer a setback. Now, being able to do this really has been a strength of our support over the last year or so - and we need this attitude really badly on Saturday. Let's go for that non- stop 'singing' again.

Drown out the people with personality defects who are looking to knock individuals. Bring the roof down whenever Che gets the ball going forward - we all know he can perform when his confidence is up. He's always had a loud set of detractors (I had to put up with one near me at Huddersfield last year, calling him "gay" and "useless" all through the game.) We need to be so loud they feel like they're p***ing into the wind, if they try and get negative.

Players & supporters alike. We all have to work hard & we all have to work together.

Some inconsiderate b**tard has chosen to invite me to a hastily-prepared wedding on Saturday, thus missing the Burton game. What sort of numbskull gets wed during the football season?

Dave, you couldn't ask Reevsie to text me the score could you? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
