Bishops Stortford 1 Billericay 0

Our third appalling result in a row. The amount of games we are underperforming this season is ridiculous.

Calder should go now before things get worse.

I don't see how our financial problems will be solved with performances like this.

It will get to a point even regular Billericay followers will not go to matches. This season we will just fizzle out and like last season many fans will turn just to have a pop at the manager and the team.

Who is going to watch the team Underperform?

I will continue to go, but crowds are just going to get lower. Something needs to be done now.

Did not deserve to lose this one, again though poor finishing and no luck in front to of goal cost us.

Used a different formation which was more like 3-5-2 rather than 5-3-2 with Danny and Mark pushing well forward. Mark hit the bar in the first half. I would like to think that we may stick with this formation for the next couple of games as it may work once the players get used to it.

Stortford relied mainly on the long ball and their goal was a bit out of the blue a looping header that went right into the corner (very similar to Gary Ansell's goal at Sutton for those that were there).

We still have a poor record then against teams at the bottom and so on to Heybridge next now where are they in the league.......

It doesn't matter how well we play if we can't beat lowly teams like Bishops Stortford. We may not have had much luck, but it is still not acceptable to lose to them. We have failed to beat them in four games this season, yet we have beaten Sutton twice in two games. Surely things have got to get better soon. With our record against the lower teams, we will have to wait until Basingstoke to pick up some points. But, it always come down to the same point every season under Calder, lack of motivation at this stage of the season, when we have nothing left to play for except respectibility.

a bit of deja vu really as we again created enough to have at least got a point.

disagree with rod on the formation. 3 at the back cost us dear before christmas. its not the way forward for me but at least someone is talking about the game!!

lets hope everyone gets behind the team at heybridge, as the team (players & management) need all the support they can get to get the club through what is clearly a serious problem.

It was the usual story - we were unable to convert our chances in the first half - in which we were by far the better team.

However, as is normal we lost the plot somewhat in the second half - with a lot less effort from where I was standing. What is said at Half Time?! I think we may have been holding for a draw again.

However, I do agree that we did enough not to lose, in fact we should have won, but the set plays, slow play and finishing let us down.

I felt the formation was a little bizzarre - both grahams together at times, Mark G seemed to be playing too deep - I'm not convinced but will reserve judgement until I see more at Heybridge.

Might be an idea to let the central midfielders go forward occasionally - what's the point of playing Ansell in there if he's going to spend most of the game sat in front of the centre backs. If Douglas went wide to support one of the grahams then too often Fewings was left in the middle on his own, up against 3 defenders! Ansell or Williams should be looking to get in the box to try and support the front two. On the right hand side Mark Graham was too isolated with nobody getting forward from defense in support when he has the ball. On the left Richard Graham who was nominally in a free role behind the front two kept going wide to help Kerrigan, which meant that whilst they were able to get some good balls in from that side, we were light on numbers in the middle to get on the end of them.

Bottom line is (imho) it's too defensive. Play 4-4-2 and tell the full backs to get forward more, and allow the centre midfield to join the attack when appropriate.
