PSF - Dorking 1 Walton Casuals 0

Another success, though I was away, but got the result within minutes of the final whistle. The mobile phone reception in the pubs of Peacehaven is exceedingly good !

"Dorking maintained their excellent pre season friendly form with a 1-0 win over Ryman League Walton Casuals on Saturday

Yet to concede a goal in pre-season, Dorking battled hard against a good Walton side, but had to thank new keeper John McBride for the clean sheet in this friendly, McBride saving a penalty just before half time to keep Dorking 1-0 ahead

The experienced Nigel Webb is improving with each game as his fitness comes back, and it was Webb who won Dorking a penalty in the 23rd minute, the keeper bringing Webb down as he was about to round the keeper and put Dorking ahead

Ex Brook House player Adam Perrot duly stepped up and despite the keeper getting a hand to the ball, the power of Perrot's shot saw the ball cross the line.

Whereas the Ryman League side had probably shaded the first half, Dorking were on top in the second as once more fitness coach Gareth Davis' work with the squad shone through, and a good shot from Daniel Kent midway through the half, and several close calls in the Walton penalty area almost saw Dorking extend the lead

Another good work out then for the side who are beginning to gel together, and with three pre season wins and a draw to date with no goals conceded, Dorking are enjoying their football at present.

Dorking now play Slough Town (KO 3pm) on Saturday 4 August before the final pre-season friendly on Tuesday 7 August against another Ryman league side, Molesey (KO 7-45pm)."

Nothing to report on the Council front. All gone exceedingly quiet.

Not so sure our recent visitors have been fielding their reserve sides.

Corinthian Casuals were impressed with us. Their management implied they had their strongest available squad out.

stolen from the walton casuals website is the following:

"A team made of a mixture of established and trialists and squad players went down 1-0 at the hands of Combined Counties side Dorking on Saturday. The only goal of the game came after 15 minutes when keeper Jay Gindre brought down a Dorking forward, who scored from the spot. Craig Lewington had his penalty saved on the half hour."

good luck to the casuals in the Ryman, they have just announced a new sponsor, a housing development company.English Courtyard, a leader in design, construction and management of retirement housing. Antler homes will become the clubs Reserve team sponsor.

if any twat blames the council in a few years for their demise I may have to mention this again. and again.
