Boreham Wood latest

Recommended Posts

Never got a look in against a strong 'Wood side who subbed most of their players during the 2nd half.

Davies most "threatening" with the occassional shot, but none troubled their 'keeper.

We have got to play better to have a chance this season. I know Boreham Wood are Ryman Premier, but we really were most unimpressive today.

Have to agree with Nathan. To be perfectly honest we could do with a striker that can hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play, there was too much long ball today (mainly due to pressure) and Davies had no chance.

Good set up at Boreham Wood, also impressive to see that 8 of their first team squad of 22 came through their youth system.

Looks like another long hard season. Oh well could be worse, might have to drive a round trip of 90 miles to the in-laws to do the washing and give the kids a bath, as no sign of any running water, and unlikely to have any for up to another fortnight. Whoops, that is the case, it's not a dream! At least we missed the major impact of the flooding, know of friends both in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury who have lost everything on ground floor level. Least me telling them I support Slough Town gives them a laugh!

I know we're only three games into pre-season but on today's showing, we desperately need new blood in numerous areas. We were outclassed today by an admittedly strong-looking Wood side from a league above, and couldn't get the ball to the strikers to make anything happen. Hopefully in the next couple of games we'll start seeing some new faces.
