Where's the "several" players he's meant to be talking to? Where's the results to back up the big talk. That management also saved us from relegation and i think it is a blessing in disguise that we didn't go up, because this summer has proven that we are in no financial state to make that jump up. I am not a Trott ar$elicker, i just highly annoyed when people like Bigtw have to constantly complain about use of young local lads in the first team when at the moment a few of them were not up to standard. Remember the reserve side has only just been reinvented and you can't expect results from them straight away, things take time which as Margate supporters we all know that and are still waiting for the certain something to arrive.

It would be very good if some of the posters on this thread had respect for people, stuck to debating their side of things if they had differing views, and did not resort to personal insults or vile language. As soon as that comes in, they have lost any credibility they may have had in their argument, in my opinion.

Not to mention that they are always banging on about doing well by young people, whilst presenting them with the worst possible example of adulthood.

All fathers think their sons are better than they really are. But a dad who gives management this amount of stick for not sharing his opinion is likely to hamper his boy's chances wherever he plays.

Big TW please give it a rest and let your lad's football do the talking.

As regards the other stuff, some of these posters are going to look pretty silly if the team does well this season. Wouldn't it be better to wait and see what happens?

Oh for some competitive football to talk about instead of all this sniping!

There will never be an answer to the conversation , if the youngsters got there chance and lost the 1st 5 matches and we were sitting at the bottom everyone would be calling for Trotty`s head , if the youngsters were top some people would have said ( I TOLD YOU SO ) a no win situation im affraid , when the time is right eveyone gets there chance weather it will be in a Gate shirt or someone else`s is the Question , But come on all we want is Margate to win there games it dosen`t matter who is in the shirt it matters that we have 11 players who want to WIN games for us at the end of the day and if we are winning we have no need to argue about it .

We are Margate fc we are in a lower league than we want to be ,we ain`t got no money but we are still around and other teams will come to HDP knowing they will have to fight hard to walk away with a point , that will bother them because they know we have a squad of players even reserve players that will fight for the course every week ,thats all ive got to say really apart from. Up the Gate and roll on Chelmsford .

bigtw you said in a previous post of yours that Proths will make a fantastic manager one day shame its not at the gate. You said of Macca he is Mr big [****!!****] and is worse than Trotty is but who was it that threw a Gate shirt to the floor last yr after being taken off , who caused problems in the changing rooms and why did he lose his Captaincy , why did he only play when he felt like it, Proths, and when Jay came along who started to play some of the best footy we`ve seen for ages at HDP he may have picked up a few cards on the way but so did Gazza so did Keane but they were dedicated players just like Macca is , Proths on his day no questioning the best passer of a ball around but only there for the money , we got him out of a scrape at Gravesend he done us proud for a while then just turned up for his money each week Macca still there and wants to get this club back on its feet and where it belongs .

Im not saying i dislike Proths but you say he loved working with the kids now he`s gone he`s not bothered mate and now he`s working with the kids at Chelmo next year he could be somewhere else , but Macca will gain respect for his tough talking image in the end because he won`t run out on our boys and they will learn from that . All we want is MFC to win . Up the Gate.

Give bigtw a break as he has more inside knowledge of what is said in training than you Margate lads who live 60 miles away from the training ground.Listen and take note for he is only stating that the young lads ought to be aware of what these two can be like.

Also heard that Macca and the Trotts do not speak to the younger players very well. More you are [****!!****]y , I am good and do as I say as we are premiership players. Good for youngsters morale especially those that do not have a testosterone charged nature!!!

I'm just saying it as I see it just because you don't like it does'nt mean I'm wrong.

I don't know how many times I have to say it but its not about my son I coached at Margate in 1992 onwards and its not changed in all these years. Prime example is a player you lot keep banging on about Ollie shultz he was at Margate in the first place but never got a chance. I knew he was going to be good at 10 years old and brought him to Margate to play.

I just hope we don't let other quality players slip through the net like he did.

Styx45 prehaps not the same as the rest I put my money where my mouth is and I do run a side in the kent league at under 14s and have run teams for over 14 years also took my fifa Coaching licence in 1996. Two of my team have just made the Kent squad which is a first for a Thanet club at u14s.

I'm a true believer that if you can spot kids at an early age with a bit of talent and get them coached well most could play atleast Margates standard and beyond.

Good reading above lets keep it friendly though. Only yesterday I was reading that Roy KEANE was considered too small to become a successful footballer and I remember the same said about the late Alan BALL. It shows that professional, qualified people make mistakes which they regret later in life. We all love our kids and want them to be better or as good as we were, but it rarely happens, I wonder how David BECKHAM will feel when his boys do not become footballers because the odds that they will are remote I would suggest. The important thing is that until we see that decisions currenlty being taken are wrong we must support the management structure of OUR club and the decisions that the management team take. Our problems are that we have been spoilt with success over the last 10 years and just perhaps we expect too much now. I think that the team structure is good my concerns are not with that but with the people running the administration side.

Many criticisms have been levelled through this website about that and until that is right we will continue to have problems but lets look forward to the coming season with the usual optimism, remeber TEAM there is no "I" in it. (NOw remind me who said that!!)
