In the abscence of anything more interesting to debate, i thought i'd wish RT and the team a productive friendly at Erith-full of good learnings and no injuries.

It may be old news but i read that Danny Allen has turned out for faversham alongside some former colleagues

Wenger I find myself agreeing with you for a change. Dan Allen like the rest of the youngster have all see the light and realised they have no chance at Margate unless they are desperate to put a team out because of lack of numbers. Most of these players will come back to haunt Margate and Trotty deserves nothing less. He has no idea how to treat young talent and get the best out them. He has also apppointed Macca as his second in command well from what most of the young lads told me about him and from my experience of meeting him on several occasions last season he is worst than Trotty he is Mr big [****!!****] in his eyes and thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread. Talks to the younger lads like he has just scrapped them of the bottom of his shoes. Of a matter of fact he is the opposite to Proths who had all the time in the world for all the boys and will make a fantastic manager one day shame its not at the gate.

You know what I meant, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

You have personal issues with these people go sort it out like a decent grown man to their face and not use innuendo and adolescent chit chat as your ammunition to hurt them in a place where they cannot and should not defend themselves.

MF I don't have personel issue with Trotty its only football matters that conserne me. If you knew anything about me and my background then you would realise this. I have been coaching and playing this game for over 38 years and know the score but I also support the club and thats were I.m coming from not because of Danny.

Everybody who coaches wants nothing more than to see their players get a fair chance to prove their abilities and I will say thats not happened at Margate for about 10 years since CK came in.

BigTW you obviously have a personal issue with Trotty from your son not playing many games last season. Because local youngsters are getting games if they are good enough which the lads are that played today. To me and many others it is obvious that Trotty is working bloody hard to do the best he can for MFC and is trying to forge links with other clubs. MFC isnt just a developing tool for young players (although of course its nice). We would like a bit of success as well and to do that you need the right mix. We have that!

RT's brought in the best of last season's reserves and u18 teams. Trotty and MW have picked the best of the crop that was on show last season. RT is feeding them in nicely and those of us that went to the Erith game saw that. And I'm sure one in particular will be a big player for us this season even if its not every week. Still a young lad and he'll need time to adjust to Ryman Premier football but he's got the talent. And guess what? He's a local lad. The local players that went down the road arent up to it so they dont bother me in the slightest. Anyway, I don't want to talk about them anymore as theyre no longer representing MFC..

Erith game - Trotty has got a group of lads that will give everything for the shirt, bar one who I won't name, but yes hes a local player. I wish he would just get his head right and use his ability because hes certainly got ability. Great performance and the football was as good or better than some of the best stuff from last season. It was only a Kent League side but at the same time I remember the same fixture last summer we got beat 2-0..What I saw this time was a much better attitude, hunger to win, good fitness and very sharp players. Also the young defenders look very good. A couple of rough diamonds there. SCS made a couple of good stops as well near the end when the side had been chopped and changed quite a bit and Macca had come off, but for 70 minutes the football was superb. Macca was very good. Looks in better shape than ever before in a MFC shirt.

For f^cks sake, you say one opinion against the MFC management ( the same management that helped us drop like a stone from top of the table with games in hand with the best players in the league resulting in FAILURE on all objectives set for the season ) and the Trott ar$elickers are on your case. Where's the "several" players he's meant to be talking to? Where's the results to back up the big talk. When Chelsford hammer us and set out our stall for the season in a few weeks time the old rose tinted specs are gonna look a bit silly eh?

I agree with WelshBob. Also where are the lucritive friendlys? we should have lined up at least one. WE do need the money or dont we.Dover managed to get the Gills Crawley and Palace. WE get Grays. BIG DEAL. Shows whos got the most contacts.

But then do you go the other way and get some 50-60 year old manager with contacts, but old training methods and old ideas. Ring any bells anyone. No thanks, not for now anyway.

The product on the pitch is what matters MOST to me. Lucrative friendlies are nice but I'll take whats on the pitch. And that impressed me Saturday. I'm hardly a yes man. I'll criticise where necessary and I think Bagley has a bad attitude. But I think the rest of the team were superb on Saturday and long may that continue for MFC. I think giving Macca more responsibility this season off the pitch will help us. He commands respect and has an air of authority which bodes well.

As regards friendlies against big-name clubs, I think it is club secretaries who arrange these, not managers.

You normally have to start setting these games up quite a few months in advance. What has hindered us is the amount of uncertainty over the redevelopment of Hartsdown - we haven't been able to say to clubs that it will definitely be available. In any case I don't think matches against Premiership reserve teams (don't forget most send their first teams abroad these days), while lucrative, are a particularly good preparation for a season in the Ryman League. Matches against non-league teams give a better indication of who is prepared to get stuck in on a wet night against a team of cloggers.

Must admit, i also think the club have got the'quality' and number of friendlies about right this season.

It always concerns me that clubs may play too many friendlies.

Think its about right this year(is the Chatham game on ).

No harm in at least trying to get one money spinning game though-Dover get the benefit of 3000 lots of attendance money following their Gillingham game
