The game tonight

Two questions need to be asked after tonights game

Do we want steve browne as manager if we have to play in the premiership against this type of team every week?

And do we want steve browne if we stay in the first division?

Tonight brownes only action was to bring on andy deaner - stunning management decision - the rest of the time he spent looking at his feet - or was it that he could not wait to get round to the honeypot were he would still fail to score

Time browne went

Wealdstone losing is a big boost though. As for Hornchurch, well, you would expect them to beat Hertford to be fair, so no surprises there. I'm not disappointed at all about the B&B game, we have more important games to come. Good luck Maidenhead I suppose !

Before the game, I was hoping we would not get any injuries and that we would not be embarassed. Well guess what, both happened. Sure I get over involved and get carried away but the players and managemet have let us down again. Daly had one of his worst games for the club and we were well beaten because all the palyers were below par. Why is that? Poor Management. I am sorry, but he cannot motivate players for a derby match or any important match (Canvey this season being the exception). I may sound mad, but I almost do not want us to go up because we will get hammered week in week out. The only cure, get rid of Steve Browne. But he must own the club, because he will never go. F*** it, I am angry.

In my opinion, Deaner was our MOTM tonight. The only one, along with Sammy, who showed anything like the passion that should have been coming from all 11 players. Well done, Andy and Sammy, thank you for your commitment. The others should be ashamed as should the excuse for a manager that stands, sorry leans, on his dugout for 90 minutes and is about as inspiring as Chris Boxall's duffel coat!

Very impressed by Deaner the guy never gives up,these micky mouse cups are just a waste of time, they just cause us problems injuries etc.How they take priorities over the league il never know.Yes its a shame we lost tonight but not to bothered. The league has always been our main priority and we still have a good chance of promotion.Shame about Guory hope it isnt too bad, looked serious.

God help you if you get in the Premier if tonight was anything to go by. Maidenhead, who I've seen seven times this season are a little better than average but wiped you out without a sweat. You were tactically naive - for crying out loud hasn't your manager heard of Yaku ?? Also he must have known Adrian Allen is just about the quickest in the Premier. Maidenhead can be stopped - it's not difficult, and a number of managers know how, but tonight was an inept tactical display. Impressed by Bubb again - good player, great potential. Daly looked ordinary to say the least.

If we are promoted, we wil have to play much better than tonight or we will come straight back down. Our penalty was never a penalty in a month of Sundays---a really poor decision by the ref. Deaner tried hard, but seriously, can anyone see him troubling defences in any division, let alone the Premier?

One thing was clear ..Maidenhead were the better team on the night...not doubt !

But this was one game and Maidenhead (who I have seen 3 times this season played there best game ! in this match..

Lewes played them off the park the same as they did us !

One match ...to say we could not hold our own in the premier league is not a good judgement...

We had the results in the league go our way , we need to do our job and get some points away from home...then who knows...but it is great to be able to be in the running....now we need to get behind the team...

let the other worry about us.....

As for Maidenhead (saying we were naive ) I can not remember for about 4 season that I have shouted "BOOT" on so many occassions last night.... Yes Maidenhead were quick and first to the ball....but are they Wimbledon in disguse ???????

Goalkeeper to penalty box or hoof into the corners for their forward to our sprint our defenders !!!! it worked tonight....and Slough were poor....but this result should only make Slough look up and learn....(we hope).....

Sorry to see Windsor loose.....

good luck to Maidenhead in the next round ...and as for the chants we would like to play you each week !!! Yes please back in the premier league would be nice and at least you might get a crowd.....(what was the attendance ??)

Proberly better than normal.........

As has been stated in the above, even a nutrals opinion - scouter, shows one area again and again that needs to be dealt with, and this is the management.

When will Browne do the right thing and leave or when will his employer or chairman see that for the good of the club he has to go and someone who wants to win take over the management of the team.

He will never see that he has to take responsibility for the failiures and continues to blame the hard working players vet still finding places in the team for his family and mates.

Browne will eventually kill the club through his incompetance and ignorance and lack of respect for the supporters who he frequantly abuses with his vulgar outbursts.

Browne has to go NOW!!!!

my comments weren't really meant to encourage Browne out shouts! But I still can't get my head around why he didn't seek to snuff out the pace of Yaku and Allen by playing an extra man deep. I chatted to Blakie after the game and he was saying these two are just about the quickest in the league, so you must have known what to expect. I disagree with the person saying Maidenhead booted the ball - what they did do was get the ball out of midfield to their front men quickly and precisely. I didn't see much lumping out of defence unlike previous years. Oh and to comment on the keeper kicking it long - come on who doesn't ? How many times have you seen Div One goalkeepers rolling the ball out to ful-backs?!!!!

BTW that anonymous posting isn't me, but it does echo my sentiments exactly. There are too many places in the side for family members and friends of family. It appears more and more players which are being sides are coincedentally friends of Ricky Browne. Coincedence? Unlikely.

Browne doesn't give two hoots about this club. Never has, never will. He gets away with a lot now because with us chasing promotion, too many fans are not speaking their minds and urging for him to leave. His own lack or passion, instruction and direction last night was apalling and showed how much he wants his team to win in complete contrast to his opposite last night, Alan Devonshire, who was continually barking orders to his players for what both sides could have been classing a meaningless game.

Chris S, Maidenhead were tactically effective last night. They utilised their strengths with direct balls into the channels against a slow back line for pacy forwards to cause havoc, and boy did it work. Not only did it work, where was the counter action from us? We didn't appear to learn from it in the first half either. Did Browne want us to lose? Does he care either way?

Scouter, Blake often throws the ball where he can, or at least he used to, but you're right, it's not often seen.

Totally agree about Maidenhead's direct play. It wasn't hit and hope, there was far more precision in those 30-40 yards passes than some years back. Not only effective, but unerringly accurate.

Agree that we were tactically outplayed last night, but surely it was made worse by the refereeing?

How many of those offsides ruled against us were genuine?

Does Browne actually talk to the team in the dressing room, and do you think he shows as much 'passion' when he does as when he's watching the game? (It might explain why our players are not exactly 'fired up'!)

Any idea what the attendance was?

Gary---I'll more than happily shout "Browne Out" till I'm hoarse, but I think it needs most supporters to join in. There has in the past been debate about when we should shout it--many supporters have said that we shouldn't shout until the match is over, or until we are out of the promotion race. Like you, I think that Browne is a waste of space, but can we have some agreement about what we should shout , and when. Remember pants day---even the organisers didn't wear pants. It needs a coordinated reponse.

PS We all suspect that the only reason Browne is still here is bcos he is owed money---probably a substantial amount if the rumours are true. What a way to run a club.

Its all well and good to shout Browne out but what good will it do,firstly Browne probably doesn't listen, and secondly it will put the players off.Instead of critisizing Browne all the time we need to support the team more.If theres one comment that comes from away fans its that there surprised at the lack of noise coming from the slough fans. Most of us want Browne Owl Out and he already knows that.Lets concentrate on promotion,i cant believe the number of people saying we cant get promotion, some people have been saying we cant do it since november, its a shame some people dont have more faith in the players. Were stuck with Browne Owl and he aint goin anytime soon,so lets make the best with what we'v got!!!!!We can do it!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
