STFC In The High Street - 11th August

Slough Town supporters will be continuing their recent trend of handout out fixture lists to shoppers in Slough Town centre this year.

The current proposed date is Saturday 11th August and this is being agreed and approved so that the leaflets can be handed out.

The leaflet will have a tear off strip at the bottom so people can register their interest of the club and be kept up to date with the latest information via email.

It is hoped that this will continue to keep the club in the publics eye and raise awareness of our move to Beaconsfield. Many people often talk to the "leafleteers" about the club and how they used to go to matches, but don't any more and there is a continued hope that a few will come back following our move away from Windsor.

Anyone wishing to help on the day is more than welcome to attend and details of meet up times and location will be added soon. We do ask that anyone attending on the day wears their Slough shirt.

The leaflet has fixtures on one side, and a map with directions on the other. If people would be able to print some out to bring along on Saturday, this would be most useful.

The design has been done with two A5 leaflets fitting side by side on a sheet of A4, so I can make this available for download if required.

Apologies to the folks who I saw do a grand job on the high street today but whom I did not join in with. My better half needed to make a last minute shopping trip to Slough before I took her to the airport. It looked like a lot of fixture lists were being handed out and was entertaining to see Chris S giving a history lesson to a chav

It went well.

A few people were asking why we had left Windsor, some saying that they would come back to watch, now that we have moved to Beaconsfield.

We also took a few email addresses from people who wanted to be kept in touch by news letter.

Even if only a handful of people come to see, I think it can be deemed a success.

I've posted a couple of pictures on my website home page

For ex supporters,Beaconsfield certainly seemed to be a more popular venue than Windsor.

In excess of 20 e-mail addresses were taken, mostly from ex supporters. When we get back to playing in Slough, such a database will be invaluable. In the meantime it will just be very useful.
