DFC - Corinthian Casuals: 26th. July

Dorking F.C. 0 - Corinthian Casuals 0

A very good show by Dorking against Casuals full squad.

It gave Tony Webb the chance to tinker a little bit in the second half. Dorking ended up the stronger side in the last ten minutes putting constant pressure on a tiring Casuals side.

Nice to see one of El Guffers spies watching. I'm sure he'll have a full report by now ! bolt

Official match report.

"Dorking kept their third clean sheet in a matter of 6 days in their latest pre-season friendly, this time against Ryman league side Corinthian Casuals.

A good quality game saw Dorking shade the match, with the team looking solid at the back, centre back Ricahrd Clibbens doing well, while in attach Nigel Webb and Adie Butler looked dangerous. Indeed, Dorking will count themselves unlucky not to have had at least one penalty from two strong appeals to the referee, while a second half decision by the ref to blow up for a Dorking free kick while Andy Morris was clear on goal seemed unfortunate.

The game was a full blooded affair, and another good pre-season work out for Tony Webb's side, despite having 7 first team squad members absent. Webb was particularly pleased that the last 15 minutes of the game was dominated by Dorking, already it seems that the hard work put in by the Dorking fitness coach Gareth Davis is beginning to pay dividends as the Dorking team looked far fresher than their opponents in the closing stages, despite the punishing match schedule this week. Dorking could not, though, find the finishing touch to get the win they probably deserved, but another good performance was the main thing.

Dorking now play Walton Casuals at home on Saturday 28 July at 2pm, following which the next pre-season friendly is at home to ex conference side Slough on Saturday 4 August, ko 3pm. The final preseason friendly at home to Molesely on Tuesday 7 August befroe the season starts in earnest on Saturday 11 August wiith a trip to Reading Town."
