Is it possible to get odds on the league winner anywhere?

There is nothing on Blue Square that I can find which is a shame as I would prefer to go to a bookie that a) pays out and offers better value than the odds above (53% is a bit too much of an advantage for the bookies for my liking).

How did you work out the 53% Eagle?

Each odds offered implies a probability that each team will win the league, for example Hertford at 6-1 equates to a 14.3% chance of them winning. If you add up the probabilities of each team to win the league it adds up to 153%, a profit margin of 53% in favour of the house. Who said that Accountancy training wouldn't help me in real life!!!

Eagles1981 - I think my bookie contact is compiling them as we speak, I may be in a position to post them later. I agree with Eagle that he doesn't seem to be giving much away but I think he got his fingers badly burned last season on Edgware and was knocked over in the rush when laying the 6/1, even Gavin had a piece of the action.

Sorry folks but not being a gambling person I dont really understand this.

I thought that you had to know something about whatever it was you were 'running the book' for to be able to give odds. If that is the case then how can Rhodes 'bookie friend' give these odds.

Paula - I think you have succeeded in confusing all of us with that post. I was passed the odds by my bookie friend and posted them that's all, I'm not twisting anybody's arm up their backs to have a bet.

I really don't understand how anyone can give odds on something they know nowt about.

Its like me saying I will give odds of 2-1 for Kentish Town to win the first division. I mean that is stupid (isn't it)??
