EDGWARE TOWN V WEALDSTONE TONIGHT!

I just thought I would let any groundhoppers or for that matter anyone know that our match with Wealdstone tonight at the White Lion Ground KO 7.45, will have a special souvenir programme issued.

 

 

 

Our two clubs have played many matches over the years, and some of which like the FA 3rd Q tie in 1947, saw an estimated 8500 (Edgware's club record) attendance, as well as being the first ever match that the BBC televised live in full!.

 

 

 

As you may or may not know Edgware have to vacate their home of 68 years, after the club lost it's battle against the developers who intend to build housing on the site.

 

 

 

If you have never been to the White Lion Ground, or if you have fond memories and would like one last visit, why not pop down tonight, I am sure you will enjoy it.

 

 

 

Admission is £5 for adults concess £3, Children under 12 admitted free with an adult.

We drew 1-1 with wstone last night, match report and pics up on my blog site.

 

So far we have draw 3 from 3 in pre season. Next match is Grays Ath on Sat at the WLG.

How many supporters did you get in yesterday?

Not as good a turnout as I had hoped for. The crowd was not given but it looked like just under/over 100. Normally that would be a very good pre season crowd, but seeing that wstone groundshared with Edgware for 10 years and they have ave support of around 250+ I expected a few more, whereas only around 50 max wstone turned up.

 

Its disspointing as the club had 200 programmes made for the match, expecting a larger crowd.
