,Whatever happened to Osman Sesay

Anyone any idea.

What set me thinking was i see a Hampton young player has signed for Bournemouth ;and Sesay definately had talent.

 

Not sure if MFC wasted it by not looking after him or Sesay wasted his own talent.

 

 

Not for one minute did i think he was in the £50k plus range that CK was suggesting in his moments of delusion/hype; but you have to say that Sesay had more potential than a few others going through their paces.

Talent without application not much use though i guess.

 

Perhaps he will re-surface somewhere, but for all we know, he may still be on contract at MFC; though i guess again that any such contract expired at end of last season?

Another talent back to haunt us one day i wonder

I found a mention of an Osman Sesay playing for Wellington People FC in Sierra Leone at the end of 2006 - could be him so maybe he just went back home.

The last time i spoke to anyone about Osman they said that he had disappeared and the people at his old address had never heard of him. I hope he wasn't one of these unfortunate young African kids you hear of on talk Sport and the like, who are snapped up by unscrupulous agents, just toted around then, dumped penniless in whatever country they find themselves in when things do not work out.

I shall never forget the next to last time i saw him arrive at Hartsdown. It was a dark ,cold night and this figure in a hoody and tracker bottoms walked through the gate (The gate steward didn't recognise him). He looked like a lost sole. The last time i saw him was not long after as he walked away.

Makes you realise that at whatever level you play at, a club has a responsibility to look after its 'employees'.

 

I'm sure MFC did the best they could for him.At least, i hope they did.

At end of the day, he is somebodies son and was/is a promising footballer

Unfortunately today a lot of players are under the control of there Agents. As with a couple of players over the last year or so the will refuse to play. Its not always down to the club.
