Ryman League TV

Personally I can't see how the club benefits from the scheme as all the club would get is a quid per viewer out of it if Ricay were chosen as the home club

If the game is on this Ryman TV a potential match goer can choose to stay at home and pay £3.95 to watch it at home

A net loss to the club of £8 per adult plus other potential loss on bar, programme, food etc

I cant see the audience being anyone other than supporters of ether side as can anyone see a pub sticking on a ryman game as opposed to the tedium of 90 mins watching soccer saturday or an uplink to dodgy asian satellite broadcaster for the 3 clock prem game

I think a few "neutrals" may pay for the occasional match, particularly in the last third of the season when you take greater interest in what other "contenders" are up to. There were probably a few matches towards the end of last season I'd have paid to watch on the PC if 'ricay weren't playing or I couldn't travel.

Can you see any of your local publicans showing live games TC ? This is where i think the idea breaks down, non-league fans will watch the highlights package and the odd live game but getting your average football fan to give up Soccer Saturday on Sky will be almost impossible.

Work aside no but I can see it taking numbers off gates as people may simply decide not to bother and watch it on telly for whatever reason

Part of this companies plan appears to be that pubs will stick it on in the gap between the live prem games can anyone seriosuly see that happening as the pubchair prem fans will want the live score service on soccer saturday or a dodgy link up to one of the live 3 o'clock prem games from greece or wherever

No Ronin, I can't see the local pubs taking it on, perhaps the odd non-league club might though?

It seems to be a good thing for you C'mon ricay.

If you can't make an away game because of work, and Billericay are the live match, then you now have a choice of paying £3.50 and watching it live.

I think those that would normally travel to away games when possible, like yourself, will still do so.

But those who don't, might now log on and watch.

So all in all, more positives than negatives.

But the company running the service are hoping to sell it to pubs, not one person i`ve spoken to thinks this will happen.

I guess a few clubs may take the service but i`m sure it won`t be many,i would be interested to know how much this would cost, perhaps it will be offered free if the club signs up to the deal.

As long as it doesn`t cost the clubs any money then sure let`s give it a go but i don`t hold out much hope for it.

Hopefully it will all work out nicely but as much as I would like to I just can't see it as for every person who would go to the game but don't their needs to be another eight people who decide to use the ryman TV for the club shown live to break even against the loss on gate receipts

I don't think attendences will be any less because the match is available over the internet. Slough, Wombles and many others show the games we play against them on their websites, normally that evening, does that make people not go to see the game live?

Ryman football on TV is an idea and the best way to see if an idea works is to run it. Whoever is running it must've thought of costs and sponsorship and what outlets to get the games shown...Should it be a success then I think everyone will win. It'll promote Ryman football and the clubs as well as bring in some revenue...I can't see this hurting the attendances because people will want to experience the "live" game and because of the access to clubs, players and such like.

On the promotion side, the more people that have access to their local team the better. In my opinion, the so called "Preimer" football scene is becoming bloated with over paid, under talented Johnny F's and those people I speak to about local football are either too lazy to go or too lazy to find out where their local teams play, or whatever. If they got access to a couple of games through the TV and found that it was on their door step, they may come down and experience the live game. Or get interested to take part in membership, merchandise etc. Who knows...With this exposure, it may well help increase attendences and revenue through sponsorship and such...
