You could ask Dave Theobald himself or Colin Lippiatt. If you want a guess, however, it seemed to me from the terraces that at the start of the season, Colin's preferred centre-back pairing was Theobald and Elphick. Then Magnus Okuongae was signed, firstly because he was available, but particularly to cover Gary Elphick who was injured. When Gary returned from injury, he came back into the side in place of Theobald who appeared to have slipped down Colin's pecking order. Theobald was on the bench for a couple of games and then left for Kettering.

 

Three or four weeks later, Magnus left and shortly after that, Patrick Ada came in on loan.
