Yianni was fully involved with the warm-up but had a strapping on his right knee so presumably was rested.

Matt Bowles was sub keeper. Also saw Karl Barron take a full part in the warm-up.

Enjoyable game tonight. Our goals from Pinno and Axon. Could have levelled it right at the end but Shane Suter (second half sub) put penalty over the bar. Hockton scored their first with a pen. Side and Harte played.

 

There could be a couple of signings this week, I was told.

 

Couple of Millwall boys played tonight, Campbell and McGuire. We got 10K for Hockton, I was told.

 

Haworth got a cut above his left eye.

McGuire appears to actually be Steve Maguire. 19 year old ex Millwall. Not sure of anything on Ben Campbell.

 

MM, Maguire and Campbell are defenders.

Great to see Daryn Vanhinsbergh involved. Looked good on the couple of occasions I saw him last season in the reserves. A very attack minded player. Pace & direct with skills too. Anyone know how he did when he came on? Would have been too much to expect great things from him in this his first taste of 1st team football.

Good result(on paper)tonight, & sounds like a "mixture" of players did themselves proud.Will be interesting to hear a report on the game later. Theres hope yet!

Saw Yianni at Folkestone on Saturday he has a knee injury expects to be out for 2 weeks.

I counted a total of 8 subs made but the last two weren't named by the irritating Bromley announcer.

 

Thought Paul Axon did well when he came on and Charlie Side seemed a very similar player to James Pinnock.

 

Thought it was totally taking the piss to charge £10 for a friendly. Hope we don't sell any other players to Bromley and arrange any more £10 away friendlies with them !

Talking about the irritating announcer, Bromley's disputed third goal, according to him:

 

'The linesman had informed the referee that the full circumference of the ball had fully traversed the goal line'.

 

As for our penalty near the end, I think Tam's comments to the linesman got him to wave the flag for it. Tam then told him he was a good boy, and he could sit in the front seat of the car on the way home. Classic Tam!

Good to here there were a couple of defenders as triallists-we certainly need them?

 

I thought Saul Anderton may have got a run out as in the reserve game i saw in which he played, he looked pretty effective in defence

 

Any initial thoughts on the comparative abilities of Oates and his direct replacement- Stuart Harte ?

Hard to judge on one friendly but Harte (or is it Hart?) looks a decent signing. I think the problem with Greg was that he was getting slower.

2. Dont agreee with you Cookie Vanesberg came on nearly scored an own goal and looked froghteded to death to be fare

3. Barron 16 - in 16 for reserves not used injured???
