Season Ticket Prices

Recommended Posts

Chris Blanc, Stu B hit the nail on the head, 'It'd simply be a way of attracting more support(and revenue)for the club'.

Put the moral ethics of it aside- most supporters would take no exception to a Student Rate being introduced, yet if you started charging people according to their wages, the club would lose a lot of fans who would stick two fingers up to the idea!

Indeed, which is why we're seeking to get a new one and to fund improvements on the ground, would you all be prepared for another price rise, then? Or for money to come out of the playing budget?

Some of you don't know you're born. Stable club, stable finances, punching above our weight given our resources... try being a Crawley fan or a Farnborough fan in recent years. Or a Scarborough fan. Or even a Fleet fan when the board really WAS sh!te.

We've disagreed on this elsewhere... wink

Good spin... or how about it brings us in line with other clubs in the division? Or a season ticket still represents a saving (albeit not for those who work often on weekends)...? Or those that tried, could've saved even more by buying in April?

However, precious little of the benefit seems to be ending up with us - the paying punter.

Need I go on?

Did you ever have your meeting with Roly Edwards CG? If so, did you raise the above questions with him? Do tell.

as was written in a previous view i to feel less encouraged to go after the name change as i feel we sold the name to gain a sponsor i work alternate weekends so a season ticket is of no use to me and i find £14 to get in outrageous so i don't think i'll be going down many times this season there was an alternative last year called a flexi ticket where you could buy a book of 10 tickets saving £2 every game does this still exsist it could help out some fans who work shift i had one last season and it worked for me

Some good points raised here, as usual! Defo agree with everything Stu M has said to be honest, basically nicked everything i was guna say!

Its been said on previous posts the amount of money season ticket holders were saving last year so it is right to cut that down a bit, as at the end they are a business and they need to make a profit! N also people who buy one are still getting a good season if they attend all or the majority of games!

Also other clubs that mentioned on here have prices higher than ours soo basically the club is keeping up with times! With us getting a better squad, being more professional and finishing higher in the league why should the club not try and exploit these factors to gain more revenue, its not as if they are ripping us off!

On the student fare i can see where ya coming from, also being a student, its just always a difficult subject! Mainly how do you prove your a student! Like there are student cards but not all are accepted now, like example im at a sixth form n we got a connexions card last year...n since then they have now been banned from being used as student id due to the fact they were to easy to form! So apart from that you could have a NS.. card or sumink but you have to pay 7quid for, for one i didnt wana lol! Sooo as said many times before a student discount is a dodgy subject!

Ahhhh that was a nice rant, it's been a while! Thats what happens when ya leave school and ya sit around doing nothing!

Im sure you all look forward to future comments...toodles x

gnfc I see where you're coming from on all points there.

With a student card, even though it might be hassle to get one, if the club did introduce a student rate, the £7 would soon actually save the student a lot more.

Also, if you have to mess about putting the effort in to get a student card, wouldn't it add as extra security against 'fraud students'- with any kind of official card, the club would know they've gone to the trouble of getting one and aren't messing about pretending they had their GCSE's yesterday.

That's always assuming that the speculation is correct and prices have gone up by £2.

Personally, I will be suprised if they have, but if £14 is outrageous, what do you consider to be a fair price?

Fair point. Apply for a card, give your name and address for said card to be delivered, and maybe some proof of college status and I see no reason why not. Yeah, there might be the odd fake student who'd go to those lengths for a bit of discount entry, but really not enough to matter I'm sure.

Yeaaah defo agree with ya there KShep, any discount for a student would be a result, spesh as we are at our prime of partying! And also for myself who is saving to go uni n still wana catch fleet games a discount would be much appreciated!

You gotta feel for students, doing work all day then some crappy part time job n spend a good chunk of that on the fleet!

Maybe a e-mail should be sent...!

Yeah... err... student's, you've err gotta feel for them.

I didn't get the pre April 7th ticket and £220 was exactly what I expected the price to be, I am a genius though.

Filling my form in as I write.

Anyone got a definition for the term '4_ever'...?

Does it mean indefinitely, eternally, etc, or does it mean 'until someone else appears to be better value'...?

It's really bugging me...

When Rob Grindley was the commercial guy and I was at Uni he agreed to sort out a student discount on production of an NUS card - he left shortly after and the idea was discontinued.

The West Ham season ticket is clearly the price for a junior - so to compare junior against adult price is ridiculous. The West Ham website states that an adult season ticket is £850 - £595 depending on where you sit.

No more ridiculous than calling yourself Fleet-4-ever and buying a season ticket for another club.

If West Ham had lost the Tevez case I expect it would have been a Chelsea season ticket. mad
