Season Ticket Prices

Recommended Posts

I know that it is too late for those facing paying £220 for a season ticket but it was possible for some of us to get a bargain at just £165 (or £7.17 a game, almost half price?) by:

Buying early at the last season price (albeit by the end of April!) at £185, less £20 discount for being a Fleet Leisure memeber (albeit at an annual cost of £30).

However it still represents pretty good value and might be worth thinking about next year if the similar offers are around.

Of course it also needs a bit of loyalty to declare a future season of support before the current one has even finished and needless to say stumping up the cash well in advance!

Tell us something we don't already know CG? Re-naming the Club with only "minimal" consultation with its fanbase proved this.

I've nearly always purchased season tickets over the past 15 years but I'm refusing to buy 1 this year out of principle.

In fact, no season ticket suits me. While I may still attend games I'm less fussed than previously and with no season ticket, I'm no longer tied to watching the Fleet. Instead I may opt to watch some Football League games instead.

Plenty of other Fleet fans do this - i.e. only watch Fleet when Charlton are away etc - and after the way the Board has behaved this summer I feel "no allegiance" to the Fleet anymore.

I still have plenty of allegiance to Fleet - in fact apart from East Fife, there is no other footy club to whom I look at the results.

The name change hasn't bothered me too much - I suppose with the Ebbsfleet thing taking off in such a big way it was inevitable the club wanted part of the action.

However, precious little of the benefit seems to be ending up with us - the paying punter.

Still have a grotesque ground that looks like it belongs in the 1950's.

Still have a board the only appears to pay lip service to fans wants and needs.

Still only get players on 1 year contracts.

Still getting price rises 5 times inflation.

Need I go on?

On the other hand, should you let the actions of the current board affect your allegiance to the club as a whole, which is bigger than anyone running it at any particular time? It's a difficult quandary, I admit.

People are speculating about a possible increase in gate price to £14 (which would be a grave mistake) based on the large increase in price of season tickets, but it may just be that the board have recognized what a generous saving you used to be able to make if you attended all home league matches (£91 last season, to be exact). As Stu says, £220 is still good value if you're in regular attendance. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yep ! give me a 'fleet ticket every time !

Of course, it is a lot cheaper to watch Fleetway Printers, although, having won the League Cup "B" last season, I believe that a price hike maybe on the cards !!

Beer keeps going up....no doubt that the wet summer will put the price of those vegetables that like hot dry conditions up......isn't life b*llocks !!

Cheers !!

Why don't you ask them ? You know them all ! They are human and converse in the Queen's English. You know where to find them !

Cheers,

This has probably been raised before, but what about a student rate? Yes as a 16-year old, I'm talking from a very biased point of view.

But...

Young males are arguably one of the most likely groups to be drawn into watching the Fleet. They're attracted by the football as well as the atmosphere, and maybe even a new sense of identity.

However, having to pay £12 to get in next year will put many off, as it is obviously double what we paid last year, assuming prices don't go up. I appreciate the club have to make ends meet with their budgeting etc, but would it be worth trialling a Student Rate, at say, £8 to see whether the difference in new supporters would make up and outweigh the loss of part of the full price?

Thoughts on this?

No less fair than letting in ladys for free as we have done in the past? It'd simply be a way of attracting more support(and revenue)for the club from a group who don't have much money because they spent it all on beer. And get 'em hooked from a young age...
