Season Ticket Prices

Recommended Posts

Can someone please explain how the new season ticket prices are substantially higher than last year, did we make it to league 2, did we sign a class one striker, or are we lacking sponsorship this year.

I was going to purchase a season ticket this year, but I think i'll stick with paying on the door, although that will now seem to be nearer to £18 rather than the £12.

I will still goto the matches, and will cancel my skysports and get senn... whatever they are, to watch the away games.

It just seems that £220 for my terrace season ticket is well, steep.

Ok, ready for the slagging off's, etc.

That's approximately £9.57 per match instead of £12. It does seem steep but the extra few quid may well help the club out. I would be angry for paying that for a season ticket also, but look at the bright side, you are still saving £56 buying the season ticket.

How much were they last year? About £185? If so, it is quite a rise in price, I agree.

You said nothing wrong to get slagged off for. As long as the quality of football reflects the increase then there should be no problems. Push the ticket prices up too much and we wont attract new fans. It's alright keep saying the extra revenue this and that but it can't keep coming from the same small fan base. 220 for a ticket is expensive but if you can make every game then it's worthwhile.

I wanted to show my loyalty and love for the team by purchasing a season ticket, even though I cannot make the evening games, so would loose out on these, but I will have to see if I can budget for my ticket. Still looking forward to the start of the season, and have faith in liam and alan.

Lucky you. They did give the rest of us a huge clue back in March though.

"If you buy order your season ticket before the 7th April you can get it at this seasons price"

It wasn't rocket science to work out what was going to happen if you didn't order it before the 7th April. I suspect that it is a fair indicator that the on the gate prices will go up. frown

Fair enough. But I did not expect that much of a price hike. I would of have accepted £190 to £200 for a terrace ticket. Also that leaflet stated that we may be able to see the fleet play league 2 football for conference money. Well, we certainly are not in league 2. so now i am looking forward to some away games, as it will be cheaper to attend than the home games.

Last year's 23 games at £12 = £276, so a £185 season ticket represented a discount of 33%. On a pro-rata basis, £220 represents £328 for 23 matches = £14.27 to pay at the gate, which I presume (hope) will be rounded dow to £14. Still a £2 or 17% increase!

By comparison to last season's price, possibly, but a quick trawl on the internet reveals a terrace season tickt costs more at many other clubs:

Aldershot £276
Woking £230
Crawley £230
Northwich £230
Forest Green £240

And that was without even looking at the ex-League clubs. So it appears to be the going rate for this level of football... you can argue that it's not worth it, that it doesn't cost much more to watch a higher level, but that's the market for you.

Of course, people are going to find £14 (if that is the figure) a big increase. However, I wonder whether the great and the good in the boardroom have considered variable pricing, discounting for the less "glamourous" matches and charging full for those games where big teams or attendances are expected?

Call me a cynic, but I wonder whether the board actually give a stuff about the average supporter.

Very true Stu. That is the market. Perhaps pricing should be graded at the level and quality of each clubs facilities. The good news would be that it would only cost us a fiver to get in. Could be worse. If you ain't got a membership at West Ham next season a top catagory game is gonna cost you £61.

They do that at the premiership games. I was thinking about season ticket this year but wont bother now as I pay for two, as my girlfriend attends every home game with me.
As I always miss the first few games due to holiday in August.
Any savings I made would more than likely go there.
So prob better I pay at the gate, but kiss goodbye to £30 along with a programe at every home game.maybe concerts are cheaper to attend and you know what your going to get for your money. unlike attending a Fleet home match lol

CG. Name me one board of any club who gives a stuff about their fans. They all say they do but do they really? That's football for you.
