Anyone been to a pre season match today?

Recommended Posts

Enfield Fc 2v1 Welwyn

enfield took the lead after 5 mins goal by Hughes, WGC made it 1-1 after 20min then a late goal from enfield made it 2-1.

It was a close game to be fair but Enfield missing some good chances early on could have been 3/4 up after 20mins.

Horace - It was only the one and I doubt would have put her over the limit, besides it was an emergency and if she had been pulled over then we would have got the Club Chairman's high profile Solicitors to get her off Alex Fergusson and Dwight Yorke style. I think it's just sour grapes on your part because I met her yesterday.

Itis - I'm devastated! Did she get to meet The Great One? Did she have her autograph book?

Shows you can never wholly believe a woman! She told me she NEVER drank when driving!

More important, how is the player, and why didn't Greg the Chairman or The Great One, or the club secretary take him to hospital?

I'm waiting for Rhodes to comment! After all the bull he's put on the Basildon forum about The Great One, and the disgraceful way he described the Haringey chairman's absence from their own friendly as "disgusting", it will be very interesting!

Horace I never drink and drive - I cant hold a glass and the wheel smile

I did have one (it was going to be the only one).

I was very disappointed as the great one wasn't there. I even got a team sheet from the nice man in the hut so that I could get his paw print on it put Rhodes said something had 'come up' and he couldn't make it.

How is the lad Rhodes??

Rhodes is predictably steering clear of this thread, although he is active elsewhere!

Horace - Yes you will be delighted to learn that my time is limited on here at the moment as my internet connection is down at home and I grab the odd half hour here and there in libraries and internet cafes. Unfortunately 'the great one' was unable to attend the game at Basildon yesterday as he had to take his wife to Heathrow to catch a flight to Lagos, I have apologised to all concerned for the huge disappointment caused and I was personally quite embarrassed about it. Having said that it just goes to show how keen everyone was to see him and the Basildon United hierarchy had all but rolled out a red carpet when we arrived, I don't quite see where you were coming from though when you compared it to 'Sugar' not attending Haringey's friendly at Manford Way last week, there is no comparison as like I said that was totally disgusting to put it mildly.

I am very concerned Cecil as to the ongoing problems with your internet connection. It can hardly be convenient to keep nipping down to the municipal librarial facilities or internet bistro, especially with the inclement and un-seasonal weather we have experienced lately. You seem to be having problems with BT, Tiscali, AOL (better known in these parts as AWOL) or a.n.other provider, and personally I would have spoken to a supervisor by now and read them their fortune. At least I would have witheld my standing order until matters were resolved to a satisfactory conclusion.

Please let us know which intermittent service you are lumbered with so we can avoid it like the proverbial plague. If Eagles 1981 was still on here no doubt he could of launched another 10 Downing Street Website petition for you. Or perhaps your friend at Barnet Police could apply a few strong arm tactics to your errant provider? I'm not suggesting that he pushes anyone down the stairs or anything, but perhaps a quick visit to their HQ and an "hello, hello, hello what's going on 'ere" might suffice.

You should not rest your case until justice is served in this matter.

If you are not having problems with the internet but just need an excuse to get out of the house, I apologise for sticking my 'bow three' oar in.

No, you're not very good at reading other people's posts, are you? I was asking if YOUR chairman, Greg, was present yesterday. If he was, why didn't he take your injured player to hospital rather than make Paula swig her pint too quickly? If he wasn't there, don't you think that's "disgusting"?

I think all that pales into insignificance Horace, when one considers the heinous antics of Cecil's internet provider. And anyway, perhaps his Chairman had other things on his mind at the time, like wondering where the 'great one' had got to?

Besides, I'm sure Paula was happy to bend over backwards for Cecil.

Whoever it is, they are doing the nation a service by being so inefficient!

Unable to bend over for anyone at the moment. My condition wont allow it grin
