concordia 0 - urchins 2

a sluggish start to the pre-season on a lovely summers day on the island...urchins started very lively and two quick and well taken goals within 5 minutes from a very impressive shane oakley sealed the win but thereafter many changes took the tempo out of the game....about a 100 urchins found the bar more entertaining than the match but a good afternoon for all and very welcoming people at concord also...many thanks to them for looking after us all..

nice to see some old friends in the blue and yellow of rangers and also good to see danny cowley in the dugout starting his new career.....I suspect that concord will be strong enough to win the esl this term but they'll need to keep certain players on the pitch because in real time one of them would have been sent off today well before he had the chance to put one of our players out of the next three games...when will these players learn that football skills impress others...

not late brutish tackles...

that aside I saw enough to tell me that both teams will be hard to beat in their respective leagues and the last word can go to a canvey fan (nice to see several of them there)

Hx will do well in the prem this year... yay

I wandered into the bar at around 3:30pm with my wife, to find a lone Urchin looking resplendent in his away shirt, pint in hand, watching the TV.

I introduced myself at half time and discovered it was none other than Urchin Mentalist. He told me he was in the doghouse with the lovely Tink and would have to be on his best behaviour grin.

Great to meet you Rob, hopefully I will stay longer next time and have a beer with you.

Sorry Unc, I looked out for you in the bar at half-time but assumed you had gone into the boardroom with Ant for a glass of red.

I had to shoot off so didn't get back into the bar after the game. Shame, maybe next time!

There were several bad challenges on Amos today and others, so we had plenty of free kicks. Though we didn't do much with them, which was disappointing.

However we won the game in the first 10 mins, we started amazingly well, but Concord showed character and kept the scoreline down. Poor second half from us, I haven't seen enough yet to see us as title challengers, but certainly up there for the play-offs.

Well it was great to be back fter a too long a break and indeed Shane took his two goals very well, nearly getting a third as well, and at Concorde on Bastille day, only place to be really, I was half expecting the Tour de France to come racing past.

Nice to see some of the CIFC lads, especially the Great Eckscape, you're always welcome mate.

Concordia personna looked after us excellently as usual, thanks CRFCboss, indeed that is a lovely clubhouse and function suite. Thanks as well to Rachel and Jane for looking after our every need.

A good workout methinks, for CRFC as well, blimey, Big d should get those 35 goals this season as is looking very fit.

A big thanks to the travelling Urchins, welcome to the new season.
