Ramsgate have a commercial manager Vic Todd who is active 12 months of the year trying to get people and money into the club. As for the papers Craig Tucker the reporter is always asking for reports on games and any information he can use because it makes his job easier if everybody gives it to him rather than him chase it. He is always at both Ramsgate and Margate home games and I have sat with him at a few games at both clubs and he is contantly in contact with the away team that day with updates from either Piper or Martin Able.

I am sure there must be an inderlying reason for this silence.

No-one can be this bad at management /communication /treatment of customers without a very good reason.

Notwithstanding that, it remains a disgrace that fans are not even being advised of whether a game is being played on Tuesday at Bromley or not.

I find it incredible that a company -which MFC is-treats its customers with such contempt.

There must be more to this than meets the eye.

A couple of months back, i suggested that Ramsgate may regularly get a bigger crowds than Margate tihs season.I fear i will be correct.

Any future hint of criticism of lack of support/attendances from any Board member deserves a very robust reply.

Surely someone on the Board must care enough about the future of MFC and have a modicum of respect for its lifetime supporters to simply make a statement of why absolutely nothing about anything is being put forward.

Its the directors bat and ball, and if thats the way they want to play, then that is their perogative.

The sad thing is that one by one, you can see and feel peoples support and goodwill deserting them, and very soon, they will be left playing on their own.

Despite obvious adverse times, there has to be some form of leadership.

Were we not going to be a community club ?

Maybe the penny might drop that giving out information -good/bad/indiferent can do alot to get the community behind you

I think that the main problem is that webmaster Nicki Canham is at university. I know he has done a lot of work on the site and congratulations to him for that. My suggestion is, why can't we have one MISA representative, say Dave, who can be given access to the site and regular information updates by the management. I believe that the main problem is that 1. they don't know how to update it and 2. It is not one of their top priorities in the general running of the club. If the management don't want to release stuff that is fine but with a representative in constant contact with them, he could at least update us with any news even if it says that "negotiations are in progress". It would just take one phone call every day for any news.

I read that Ramsgate got over 500 there for their kickabout with Gillingham on a midweek eveing.
I reckon 'Gate will be lucky yto get over 300 for their friendly with Grays on a saturday.

I can't recall now, but i think for our first home friendly v Millwall last season ,we got about 400.

So Ramsgate are getting 500.

Does that alone not spell out a big message to the Board.

Does the Board care ?
Have they got the business acumen and motivation to do anything about it.

Its not just about money.

You're probably right; but Grays are an attractive fixture, and with all their new signings likely to bring a stronger side than Millwall youth; and thus should be a good test for our 'new Gate side (whoever that may be ).

But i suspect we will get less than 350 there;whilst Ramsgate get over 500 against Gillingham reserves.

Its just so sad that this is being allowed to happen;and then the Board wonders why it can't pay the bills.

Does anyone care enough.

In the absence of promoting the club from the board members themselves it looks like its going to be a moderate appeal to start with then.

"Target 500"!

Just as well that Peter W & Taffy Alan(all at there own expense might I add) are getting some posters ready for the individual fixtures & also this season,pre-season posters for the entire seasons league fixtures, otherwise it would have been "Target 300".

Someone has to try & keep this club afloat.(Am not forgetting the clubs part in striving to keep the club going through the courts on other matters but surely its the lack of funds that has brought us to going to court to survive in the first place).

Then theres the kind gesture of sponsorship by Bigtw (at his expense) & printing of the fixture cards by Dannyriding & his kind wife.

Come on Margate FC we are doing our bit(as most of the rest of us will be distributing the posters & fixture cards too).

We could do with you playing your part & helping out on this side of things Margate FC board members!

Its in everyones interest to do so,surely!

Come on,between us ALL lets "GET THIS MOMENTUM GOING...NOW"!

"ITS TIME TO TURN THE VOLUME UP"

With the reference to the friendlies, they really are not a priority for supporters. I don't know why clubs insist on charging full prices for these matches. Why don't they reduce the prices and promote the bar shop and food outlets. Grays are not an attractive fixture with no support at all. They could only average just below the 1000 mark even when they were winning the Conference. There is no pre season fixture this season which would encourage any floating supporter to attend.

Personally, i think Grays are quite an attractive fixture-alot has happened there over the summmer.

But the point is, whoever we play, its not about the opposition.

Its about the 'New' Margate for 2007/8 and thats the brand that should be being promoted.

Come and see our (perm between nil and three ) new signings, how green the grass is ,how blue the paint is, how smelly the linament is,but just sell, sell, sell.

Let children in free if with parents.

Tell people something.

Beg, steal borrow people to turn up ,but for goodness sake do something.

Margate shot indicates that pre-season friendlies are not a priority for supporters-in isolation correct; so make them a priority by giving those who attend the Grays game a voucher for half price attendance to two games in January and February next year.Give people an incentive.

Don't we need cashflow.

As it is, its too late now anyway-another chance to relaunch the brand missed.

You only get one chance to open the season.

Actually I was being serious, more with hope I must admit, rather than with great expectations. We will soon see wont we if this has been achieved or if its a non-goer again with all our hopes pinned on the 5-a-side pitches coming good without any need for sponsorship of matches, shirts etc.We need as much sponsorship & income as can possibly be achieved surely,by whoever!
