Back page and inside back page all dedicated to Ramsgate

Tiny bit in the corner for Margate saying "Sorry folks but it remains quiet at Margate with nothing manager Robin Trott could go public on until the club publish news on their website".

 

Or until hell freezes over or pigs fly or LeedsClive is no longer a tw^t!

Still, we do have the prolific Charlie Side and the laughing policeman Harte-or are they just holograms? And of course Yianni-cue the "he used to be a scummer but he's alright now" song.

Visitors to the isle who buy this rag would think Thanet only has one club, or would think Ramsgate are the bigger club and us as the poor relations.

A sign of things to come perhaps. I'm getting very p1ssed off. Players and managers come and go but us fans are always here but we may as well not exist.

Trouble is, if the footie club are not letting on to the papers they can't publish it can they? I can't believe Ramsgate have this much news and Margate never seem to have anything half decent to report. I think it's about time Margate took a good look at Ramsgates publicity and take a leaf out of their book.

Seriously I agree, it is about time the club gave us an update on the website.

 

For the exiles Trotty did add that training was going well, has bought in a fitness trainer. He has a lot of players to look at and ringing up about players all the time. There's a lot of young players who are very eager, some local, some not.

People who know I support Margate ask the questions: I hear Margate are being closed down? try to answer as best I can with the info we were given some weeks ago now. So how's it going, getting it sorted out? Sorry I don't know. Have there been any new players signed? Sorry I don't know . . . I thought you supported Margate they say. As for the local press, I have said it before and I will say it again: If given the opportunity, it keeps the club in the public eye, keeps all the fans informed, and above all, it is FREE PUBLICITY! How can you expect to increase crowd numbers for the coming season, when a large section of the community probably think the club is going out of existence. Margate has for many years been the premier club for the area, not any more it seems. Not a mention in the local papers for two or three weeks, SHAMEFUL NEGLECT OF A GREAT OPPORTUNITY I CALL IT.

Totally agree with you AB. At the MISA AGM Director Alan Bown was having a go saying we've got attendances that are too low. How can we be expected to enthuse about and sell the Club to floating supporters and friends etc. when we can't answer their questions because the Club is not giving us the answers?

Another club (Bromley) has a confirmed friendly against us on this Tuesday night and STILL we have no confirmation from our club of the pre-season fixture list let alone god forbid any news on signings when we are fairly sure weve signed someone this week but we'd like to be told by the club.

 

Also its pretty clear MFC have put in Trotts contract that he cant tell anything about signings to the paper unless the club have confirmed it. Great idea that was eh. Im sure RT aint stupid and wouldnt tell the paper anything that would let a signing slip by.

 

I have heard Nicki Canham is away/busy but I have also heard that a certain someone else also has the password (Im not talking about Steve here but Im sure you can guess). So get on the site and inform us all today please.

I presume that everything is awaiting some sort of resolution of the problem with HMCR. I cannot see how we can move on until that is out of the way. But that is not helping us with the season looming. I would imagine that the club is feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

I do agree with you June that the management are putting all their efforts into resolving the problems with HMCR and all power to them in their efforts.

But we still need to keep up with other issues at the club. Such as is there, is there not a game on Tuesday? If they have no one available to pass on any information, they could jot any info that is available for public knowledge down on a post-it if necessary and I for one would be willing to pop in to the club a couple of times a week to pick up said post-it and put it on the forum for them (forum for them, does that read right?).

If I told you that we had someone who was selling the club out of season , bringing in about £1K a week but they stopped because The office wasn't banking cheques, sending out invoices, getting the artwork to the sponsor etc etc would it surprise you!!!!

 

Its it just one person fault in my eyes

Got to agree with most of the posts above, I know as much about the intentions of Margate football Club and the proposed friendlies as any one living in Thanet and I do not get the Thanet Times or the Gazette and live on the other side of the English channel. I have mentioned before but will do so again, the forum plus Jeff Trice's history section are the only decent parts of this website, apologies to those who created it and i am sure a lot of hard work was involved but the relationship between the Club and the loyal fans is and has been for some time pathetic. Patience is being lost and that is obvious from other posts on this forum. Ramsgate supporters must be laughing their socks Off !!! MFC SORT IT OUT
