Slough's Sunday League Players

Just thinking about what Wilko has said in the papers that he thinks we can win this league.

Now i'm not going to argue with Wiko(but i'll see who he brings in first), but I can't think that one thing that could help this is some of our players still play Sunday league football (Davies and Barts were I think last year?).

Surely playing Satuday, Sunday, Tuesday and Training Thurday won't help our cause? Wonder if the players who also play Sunday's will be asked to stop?

Good good.

I've read forum rumours (and before Windsor Sec or Mal strike me down I reiterate RUMOURS) that Josias Carbon is training with our former landlords. Regardless of his reasons for leaving, he'd be a welcome player back at our club. But also would be a very good signing for our former landlords

Dont arugue with Wilko, haven't you seen the tackles he puts in on a Saturday!!!! This is going to be a tough league though and I think that there are about 8 or 9 teams that could do well but we are definitely one of them.

I played quite a few Sunday games last season and as long as the team you sign for know that you won't play every week then it can work for you. Last season it was good when at the beginning of the season I was out of the side, and later when all the games kept getting called off, to just keep myself ticking over.

With the fact that we didnt have a reserve side there really was no other option. I would say though that the situation this year is slightly different and the need to play on a Sunday morning probably wont be there.

A reserve side? Let's not run before we can walk. As good as it would be, there are fees to pay for league registrations with the Capital League, we would need to find a place for them to play and then sort out expenses.

Certainly won't be happening this season, but certainly something we will be keen to re-establish in the future.

We need a bloody youth team. I've seen far to many quality players who live in slough join sides like Burnham,Maidenhead,Hayes,Beaconsfield etc and all of this is due to the fact that we have no youth team. Im speaking from first hand experience, lets plan Long term.
