The new Ebbsfleet United striker is ......

Recommended Posts

Some background & an interview from the Weymouth site :-

http://www.theterras.co.uk/website/player-interviews/2006-2007/nade%20raphael.htm

Clearly did well for Weymouth in their promotion season, but doesnt have a great goalscoring record overall (roughly 1 in every 5 starts at Weymouth, Woking and Carlisle at Conference level or above (1 in every 6 if you include sub appearances)). That said, it does seem he was played as a wide man regularly at Woking and Carlisle, rather than his preferred position as a central striker, so I will reserve judgement until we've given him a fair chance to show his abilities (no doubt others will immediately decide its a rubbish signing and will start slagging him off even before he puts on a Fleet shirt though)

He can't been held responsible for his brother and seems to have a very good understanding of the game ( re Waddle ).

I having stopped putting money in those envelopes that come through the door now though !

With Ebbsfleet Station coming on line in November we could possibly finish up with a team of frenchmen wanting to play close to home. If he commits as does Sacha it will be great. Can't wait for the season to start.

Well done to Liam excited

Well this is a good signing for the club, and hopefully he will sign the contract early next week and in the next few days another striker as Diash states can be found. Seems that the pieces are coming together for both the Fleet and Charlton, so I am beginning to look forward to the new season.

Why people feel the need to pass comment on new signings they've either never seen play or at best only on occasion for opposition clubs, rather than wait until they've seen the players play a good few matches for the club, has always baffled me.

Just as it's ludicrous to bemoan new signings (as Alan W alluded to), it's equally bizarre to proclaim them 'good signings' straight from the off.

I think it's fair to say someone's a good signing if they've got a reasonable reputation, have performed well at Conference level and would appear, on experience to date at least, to be more accomplished - for want of a better phrase - than some of your existing players (which is not to do them down).

I don't think you have to see someone week in, week out, to make a judgement (albeit not a conclusive one) as to whether they're a good signing or not.

I had never seen Charlie Mac play before he signed for us, but I was impressed & pleased with the signing. Just as well I didn't post my thoughts on a fans forum message board a ? I would have looked a right w*nker !!

Cheers,

Of course, no-one would expect you to have an opinion, one way or the other JC.
Most of us are baffled by your stance on considering us 'ludicrous' or bizarre' for saying he looks a good signing.

Nade actually comes with a good reputation, as evidenced by forums from previous clubs.
And the times I have seen him, he has always looked a threat.

I also think that it is fair comment to make that most of Liams signings over the last year would not have even contemplated playing for the Fleet. Its not as if they are coming here for the big money if you believe what you read about our budget.I think Liam and Alan have done wonders raising our profile in the football world also its fantastic that Brian has a seat on the league the club is on the rise.
