Gavin - I have just posted something on another thread before you posted this, I can't tell you how sorry I am but I'm sure something can be done if you act fast, can't you speak to Kingsbury about a possible groundshare.

(a) There is no Kingsbury
(B) Silver Jubilee Park doesn't have an "E " grading

Well I'm only trying to help, nothing is impossible and I'm sure something can be sorted out for Edgware rather than just throw in the towel.

wots done is done...although I dont like the 'thrown in the towel' comment it looks like a case of 'no other option'...theres been rumours for a long time about the ground and money troubles etc etc...its a sad day for footy at this level

The best we could hope for is to go this season without a club and then start afresh in 2008/09 somewhere else, and prob a lot lower down the non league pyrimid frown and thats being optimsic.

The worse case is that this is end of a 68 year old football club

Well it seems like they are throwing in the towel unless, as you suggest, there are money troubles and they simply can't afford to continue. Would they be able to groundshare at Kingsbury if they stay in the SSML Premier Division and forfeit their promotion.

Gav, has anyone at the club got contact details for Dave Beasant? He may be prepared to help the club he started his career with. Perhaps some financial input to put towards a groundshare and keep the club going for now?

I might drop Russell Grant a line tonight to see what help he can provide.

With Re to Dave Beasent, I had the same thoughts, and actually rang Fulham FC who were very helpful, and said they would pass my number and details on to Mr Beasent. I was hoping that maybe he would send down a Fulham side so we could play them in the last match at the WLG.

With regards to Russell Grant, yes do please contact him and let him know, after all he is a partron of the club, if only in name.

The club's sponsor has dropped out leaving the club fiancially crippled. A ground share with London Tigers would cost the club a lot of money it does not have and would leave the club still without the use of a function room.

At present the best we can hope for is to look at various other means of grounds/ fianace and come back with a new club playing aat lower level in 2008/09.

If I was to win the lottery as in Millions I can tell you that I WOULD invest in Edgware and either save them or re start a new club..but hey we all have dreams!

Yes but will you do it or are you just saying it, I know Russell sent Haringey a cheque for £100 following the fire so he may be Edgware's saviour! Dave Beasant can be contacted through Amersham Town's Secretary, details in the SSML handbook.
