PLANS for a £100million development at Oaklands College have been deemed "invalid" by St Albans District Council.

Oaklands recently submitted an application for a new college, performing arts studio and large sports hall to be built on the existing Smallford Campus, in Hatfield Road, St Albans.

However, a council spokesman informed the Review that the application did not include sufficient information for the council to determine it. The council has deemed the application invalid and says it cannot accept it.

Oaklands has now been asked to provide more information.

Once the council has received all the information it needs, the application will be registered and will be made available for the public to view on the council's website www.stalbans.gov.uk or at the council offices.

At that point the council will write to local residents - any feedback will be taken into account in determining the application. As a major application, it will be dealt with by committee at a later date.
