I think the fixtures give the Fleet a good chance to make a positive start to the season, I hope to get to see at least one friendly but my chances of seeing a league match are not until early September due to Charlton being at home on the same Saturdays. I expect a few players will be on trail in the next few weeks and hopefully a few more can be signed up. Think the defence and midfield look ok, but we need another striker or two.

It is a misconception that global warming equals hotter, sunnier, better weather in the UK etc as many might hope. They cling to this as a reason not to have to change their polluting habits. The increase in the Earth's temperature will actually according to the top scientists mean more extreme weather and on a more regular basis. So the Halifax fans might still wish to bring their canoes etc down south just in case.

Also, regarding the reference to the Chinese, just remember that those power stations are largely being built to support the West's manufacturing industry which has been moved almost in its entirety to the most capitalist / communist regime in the world. Therefore it is still the West that is doing the polluting except that a lot of it is now by proxy. Place the blame where it really deserves to be.

Anyone lucky enough to have had their summer holiday (in the UK) in April?

One for your file KMJ.....I was up in Northumberland for a week in June and, apart from one day which was drizzly, the weather was great ! T-shirt & shorts job !! On the beach most afternoons, even went in the sea once ( by choice !)

Must dash.....just off for an early evening Chinese meal !! TGI's is too expensive for me !! ( so you may have a point after all !)

Trust that all the hot air that you spout is carbon neutral ?

Have a good weekend all .....hope that everyone is going to the club Sunday for Le Tour ? Drink for Ebbsfleet ( albeit from 12 noon onwards !!).

Cheers,
