Who's Darren Wilkinson's right hand man this year?

As Steve Hale has left and Mark Betts is unexperienced in Ryman football, who will be Darren's assistant.I've no doubt that Darren Wilkinson deserves his chance, after sticking with us through thick and thin,to prove he's got what it takes to be a good manager.I just wish that we could have got in previously an experienced, seasoned, wily proven track record, manager instead of players being made up to fit.Hindsights a wonderful thing but if we had of done this earlier,I'm sure we wouldn't have been in this league[forgetting our off field problems].

Admittedly Graham Roberts didn't do very well but we should have stuck with a tighter budget then and not wasted our money on football mercenaries. The only player who's proved good money well spent is Steve Daly even though,I'm not his biggest fan.

What do others think?

Reading Rebel

What I mean't about Steve Daly,is that he cost, was it £10,000? but has played for a hell of a lot of games/seasons.Unlike many of the players we've wasted money on.He definitely plays better against higher opposition, by raising his game.My criticisms of him are that I find him an obnoxious, big head off the field and not a great ambassador for the club especially as he's captain[just a personal opinion].While excellent in the air,he is prone to getting caught out by quick attackers.Hence why under Eddie Denton we always played with three centre halves.

So I know it might seem a contradiction by what I'm saying but in being unbias,he has proven to be good value for money.

3 Spirit, I don't agree with your opinion of Steve off the field. He is always the first to come over to us Sussex Rebels to say hello before and after a game and gives a lift to games to one supporter. He's an intelligent bloke who has a good reading of the game and would be a useful addition to the coaching staff, and has remained loyal when so many have jumped ship.
