The Rhodes bitch against Haringey Borough thread

Recommended Posts

Game is on Thursady.

I will be at White Hart Lane in the away supporters end. Although not my team, I will be cheering them on.

All 1,800 tickets for Anorthosis Famagusta end sold out within days so it should be a good atmosphere.

Will you be in attendance?

I have no plans to go but it's a great draw for Famagusta with all the Greek Cypriots in North London, it will be interesting to see if it is a 36,000 sell out as if not Famagusta should have received far more tickets than their measily 1,800 allocation. No doubt 'Sugar' will be there and possibly George Kilikita too.

I was told that the away club is only allowed 5% of the tickets. I got mine via Anorthosis Famagusta.

Such was the demand that Anorthosis could easily have sold about 7,000 tickets.

I've heard that a lot of Greek-Cypriots have obtained tickets in the Spurs end.

I expect there will be a 36,000 capacity then, Spurs are lucky as if they had drawn a small team from any other country they would have been lucky to get 20,000 with the first leg at home

He did over the BewareofRhodents episode and came out of the woodwork again when I complained about someone, who's name escapes me, accusing us of issuing rubber cheques

Football Man - Yes but Haringey Borough are the Community Football Club in the London Borough of Haringey aren't they, it's a Club for the Community where someone can just walk in off the street to have a trial if they think they're good enough.

Just so that you know absolutely, I will tell you the following:
1 I am what is known as a “silent” investor in Haringey Borough
2 Aki “Sugar” Achillea is a friend of mine.
3 You are neither a friend of mine, nor of the club.
Whilst I have no doubt that you are rejoicing at the relegation of the club that you have consistently suggested that you support, it is only right that you should be aware of a few points.
First, even though you find fault with him at every turn, Aki Achillea is just an ordinary man, not a super hero, not a politician, not even infallible, but an ordinary man.
However, he is a man of passion. He has great passion for his club, and he has put an enormous amount of his personal time, effort and money into that club. There are not many people who are either willing or able to do that in these times.
I note that you have posted, with some mirth, stories about “Sugar” pouring the teas at matches. Tell me something, Rhodes, what exactly is wrong with a day’s work? Is it somehow wrong to put yourself to work at the club that you support? No doubt Kentish Town would never find you serving up – it would clearly be much of an embarrassment. What would the servants think!
I am not interested, Rhodes, in history, but the present. Throughout this season you have singularly shown yourself to be, variously, an idiot, a hypocrite, and a liar. “Sugar” has failed to live up to any of those standards.
I do not know whether your current team will in fact be in the same division next season, but let me tell you now. If we are indeed in the same division, and you should choose to come to Coles Park, you will not need to wear a disguise. We will welcome you as we welcome all. We do not have time for pettiness. Good luck for next season.
Chutka

I happened to be flicking through a few old posts, as you do, and came across this one by a mysterious member called Chutka from April. I'm surprised nobody, in particular Football Man, picked up on the highlighted part of the post as members will recall that I was unfairly barred from Coles Park earlier this season.

clip Rods, you do seem to have this rather unfortunate habit of shooting yourself in the foot when you drag up old posts or post stuff from other fora. I have highlighted the interesting points of Chutka's post for you to read again and absorb.

Yes but I quoted Chutka's entire post in good faith when I could have easily just highlighted the relevant extract about me being unjustly barred from Coles Park when Kentish Town went there earlier this season, it's typical of you to pick up on and highlight other comments he made without even mentioning that.

Football Man - Okay so here's your chance to comment on Chutka's statement above then, I can't wait!

This is a view that appears to be shared by the vast majority on this forum. You would appear to be in an extremely small minority if you genuinely feel differently.

This is a point I have made long and hard since you first started embarrassing yourself and those that you attempt to glorify or defend via this forum. It was only a matter of time before others came around to my way of thinking and, the more you stubbornly continue to act like a clown, the more people you will alienate.

Yes but Chutka has only ever made that one solitary post, it could have been 'Sugar' for all you know. Anyway you still don't touch on the extract I posted about banning me from Coles Park, luckily I went along with it as I oversaw our Reserve team that day but if I was determined to see the game I would have done by hook or by crook and gone to the SSML hierarchy.

Fortunately, you duties as unofficial match secretary for the Reserves got you out of a difficult situation. Do the football authorities know that you are still acting in an official capacity, following your "voluntary" demotion resulting from Aki's justified case against you?

It didn't get me out of a difficult situation at all as if I wanted to go to Coles Park I would have done, I think 'Sugar' knows full well that if I had been determined enough to go to Coles Park I would have done even if I had to bring his hero George Carmen back from the dead to accompany me to hand him a Court order.

Furthermore what on earth are you on about concerning the 'football authorities' and 'Sugar's' 'justified case against me', what justified case!
