Hornchurch 0 Marlow 3

There's no getting away from the fact that this was a poor performance. Marlow were always the stronger, more determined side and we rarely troubled their defence let alone their keeper.

Once again we fell behind to an early goal, Tim Cook heading in from a corner in the first minute. Andrew Martin scuffed a shot when well placed mid-way through the half when on another day he would have buried it. Paul Wood superbly tipped over a 20 yard effort from Stuart Lake in the 38th minute but Marlow made it 2-0 from the resulting corner, Cook nodding in from close range.

Unlike previous games our second half performance did not improve on the first. We struggled to penetrate the Marlow defence and when Andrew Martin blasted wildly over the bar in the 75th minute after being put clear by Craig Cripps it was becoming obvious that this would not be our day. Our fate was sealed with 5 minutes left when Robert Gibson headed in from a Stuart Lake corner to make it 3-0.

Line-up: Wood, McGowan, McDonald, Gooding, Jopson (Kimble 62), Southon, Locke (Cripps 70), Cowley (Fox 60), Elder, Martin, Benstock. Subs not used: Kharine.
