news from last night

For the ones not at the meeting last night, MFC said that on Monday morning they had a commercial manager start but at 10 he quit because of what happened

That the trouble has been caused by an unnamed shareholder who went straight to the press and spread rumour rather than approach the board and ask what was happening

Also that this would have an affect on any players who were going to sign a contract.

Also in the local paper there is a front page story about it (back page is the Rams saying that they support us) the article in the paper doesn't tally up exactly with what was said last night,

I thought the meeting was well delivered last night its going to be wait and see time

You have covered it well Andy. Just to add Solicitors appointed to act on our behalf are the Development Company's I believe, so Wont cost club anything.

Also was mentioned that there will be no fine for late payment of PAYE despite one supporter who seemed to find this surprising.

Weekly payments are £2500 which is a lot of money for a club of our size. This together with the drop in attendances last year despite us challenging for the title was why the wage bill was reduced for the coming season.

Seems reasonable enough to me. The CVA has to be the priority for the time being.

Malcolm explained why the 5 a sides have been held up. The club had to pay £7000 for soil sampling, and had to have various studies carried out. The unprecedented hold up was caused, I think Malcolm said, by a further study into a small bit of land that gives access to a car parking area, so the club set the date at 16th July for the 5 a sides to start and fully believe we're clear to start then.

I heard KP say £2500 a week (which is £10000 a month but maybe he didnt see the need to give a monthly total). Maybe others who were there heard it was £2500 a month but I am fairly sure?

I think the weekly payment was the PAYE element, which is separate from the CVA. My understanding was that this problem was not to do with the CVA so much as the PAYE.

I thought I heard that the CVA was to be settled in payments that were contingent on various stages of the redevelpoment, e.g. the agreement of leases, the start of the various phases of construction, and this was happening.

I also remember hearing that Mr Lever was still totally on board with us. That everyone had been optimistic that the development could be done in the time that they told us it would, and were very disappointed that it had not come about, but that delays were sometimes inevitable and unavoidable, but that we were very close now. Also that the club had the support of the Council, Ryman, and FA.

I also thought that the board were very frank with us, and answered any question put to them. They appear confident that this will be sorted out, and we would start the season as we expect to.

The directors told us that the speculation around this had harmed the club, and that they would always keep us informed as and when they had factual and true things to tell us, and not before, and could we please try to trust them.

MF, I thought it was said that the PAYE element was due on the 19th of every month, although I am not sure. And yes I believe this is the area where there was the outstanding amount although this has been paid.
