Town 0-2 Ks

Frustrating game, to put it mildly. First half hour we were aboslute toilet. Conceded a goal from a corner after 2mins. Willo lucky to stay on the pitch after kicking out at an opponent. Defense all over the place. Towards the end of the half we start to get on top, Douglas hits the bar with an audacious lob. 2nd half better, create plenty of chances but can't convert. K's get an injury time penalty when a breakaway ends with JJ bringing down a Ks player.

Overall, thought we were good value for a point - the scoreline doesn't reflect the match. However we started the match very badly and gave away a soft goal. We created more chances than in our past 4 matches combined, but couldn't find the back of the net. The Douglas-Fewings strike partnership has the makings of a good 'un as they get fitter and used to playing alongside each other.

I thought Calder should have until the end of the season, but if we continue with results like these maybe not and if results stay the same we may finish lower than last season.

We've now got two games which we should win, both against lower opposition in Bishops Stortford and Heybridge and less than 6 points would not be good enough. Lets hope results improve next week.

i dobut we will win either as there teams in the bottom 6 who these fixtures matter as they are trying to avoid relagation wheras ricay have nothing to play for and undoubtley calder wont be able to motivate the players as he has no motivational skills

and in 5 games against the bottom 6 we have i think picked up the rubbish total of 5 points

A poor game I thought (for long periods just boring!). Kingstonian appeared to come with a game plan of shutting down the two Grahams as soon as they got the ball and therefore no crosses came in, as we create very little from any other source it was difficult to see how we were going to score.

Our best period was just before half time and if we had scored then, Kingstonian might have tried to do more than just time waste the second half. They did not have a shot of note until towards the end of the game when we were committed forward.

Where do we go from here? Well we have to find a central midfielder who can pass the ball and create opportunities for the front two. Although we might not win anything this year we cannot let the season just fizzle out (like last year) as there will be no supporters left when the next season starts in August (In conference 2?) hardly anyone is going to away games as it is. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

we created enough chances to have got something from the game but again couldnt find the back of the net.

whilst we still have the tightest defence in the league only 2 teams have scored less goals than us this season and they are the bottom two!!!

seems first goal wins in a riccay game praps thats another reason the crowds are down.

sadly it seems the fizzling is beginning to fizzle

Read this in the Saturday programme:

" ... you will also be seeing some player movement due to the fact the club financially will not be able to sustain the wage bill required from now until the end of the season ."

Sounds like bad news.

Why to the end of the season ? - out him NOW - He CANNOT motivate the players and treats them like [censored]....his reputation's spreading and no sought after player will want to come to Ricay with him in charge - trust me.....

Not an inspiring game from either team to be honest. Just one of those boring, lets turn up 'cos we got nothing better to do games....We get 'em...every now and then...

So the club is in trouble financialy. Well, well, well...Perhaps the Supporters Club should be asked to help out again seeing all the unrecognised promotion and good work they did in previous seasons (only mentioned this as I haven't heard of anything happeneing in the High Street recently).

Is it possible to get rid of any more players and still have a team? OK we have no issues over cup ties anymore, but this has still got to be a worry hasn't it?!

I would hate to see the grahams go, they are the only two players that are exciting to watch but I did say on here a while ago that if the team continues its slide, the grahams wont want to stay at the club anyway. the trouble is they are out best pleyers by a mile and they stand out in every game so other clubs are always going to be interested.

We have played so many teams this season where the oppositions players have been made up of some young decent players. I would assume the grahams are our top earners, and like i said i would be sick if they went but if we could replace them with half a dozen good young lads, in the same mould as Kerrigan and Gilley, lets get them playing together for a while rather than this stupidly high turnover of players we have had, maybe we would have a midtable finish (no worse than last season and the way this one is heading) but the team needs to be rebuilt and that starts all over starting in the dug out. get the dead wood out, get a young manager in like the guy who was at Farnbough this season. Calder seems to be always looking for a quick fix soloution with players.

Like i said i want the grahams at new lodge for as long as poss but if we need the coffers who else are we going to sell? no one else has been putting in performances worthy of another clubs interests.

what i would like to know is why are we in financial trouble? at the start if the season we had so many new faces it took a month to know who was who, and yet now the supporters are turning up with their boots. Have the club been overspending in the hope of promotion? if yes, then the manager has let his board down.

If the club has over spent in general (surely the new stadium plans and all that has been involved in acheiving this has come from club funds???) then this shows poor management of our football club. There are questions that the club needs to answer, it would be nice for some form of formal statement from the manager in his programme notes, or the chaiman could even push the boat out and give us some answers by having his own one off piece in the programme (probably have to sell a player to get the extra paper!).

However, no matter who plays for us I will go along and support my local team.

I think their's been a number of money related issues this season with the cumulative effect coming into play:

Drop in gates - we're about an average 100 down on last

season, taking us back to the level of the season before.

Directors departing - we're now down to a board of directors of 2. Jim Hall and Rod Moore.

Lack of money-spinning cup ties. With the exception of Boretree in the FA cup we've not had big cup crowds this season, home or away.

Would suggest it hasn't helped that we've been shelling out the cash on contracted players to sit in the stands because the manager won't play them.....
